Did the 9 day Dushanbe to Osh tour in early May 2026. Overall, I had a great time, and was happy that I did the 9 day which allowed for more treks and sights rather than any shorter length. The guesthouses, homestays, yurts, and hosts were welcoming and the food was very good. Our driver Kairat was very experienced and we had an amazing and fun time with him, we really hope to do another tour with him again soon! If I were to do the trip again, I would recommend trying to time the tour to visit the Afghan market (only Saturdays). The trek to Jisev village is a must-visit and was beautiful at our time without so many tourists. If I had any more constructive feedback, it would be to Visit Alay to adjust the program itinerary for trips during April/early-May. The Day 8 yak riding and visit did not happen, nor did the Day 9 hike to Peak Lenin Traveller Pass due to apparently some muddy roads and/or snow. However, our guesthouse in Sary Mogul did manage to arrange some horseriding for us on Day 8 afternoon which was lovely.

What an amazing experience we’ve had on the Pamir highway!! One big adventure with the most amazing people. Our driver Kairat made the whole thing even better. Joking around with us and introducing us to great music. Thank you for everything!!! Only advice for the company: maybe change the itinerary for trips early on in the season. We skipped over a couple things because we were early and it would have been nice to know that at the start!

This is a full on 7 day / 6 night trip. It starts gently as you follow the Panj River dividing Tajik from Afghan - you are on the border for a couple of days - and it’s stunning. Then you turn inland from Langar and the landscape is everything you expect from all the photos of the Pamir Highway. The trip takes you in extremely remote areas and we stayed with families in their home stays - eating with them and experiencing albeit for a few days - the harshness of the environment they live it - the real Pamir Mountains If you appreciate your creature comforts don’t do this trip !!!!! Why use Visit Alay - their drivers are experienced and local. Our own driver - Joomart was born in Murghab - and has been driving the Pamir Highway for 10 years. He therefore knew not only literally everyone we passed on the highway - but people in all the villages we passed and made phone calls ahead when needed. His driving was truly amazing. The road in places is dreadful and dangerous - but in his Land Cruiser he managed to cross the highway with no dramas. We also met Khokon and Bharha- two other drivers from Visit Alay - who were also from the same village. They are a close knit community who help each other out. Brilliant experience.

This tour was incredible. The views each day from the highway were unreal and there were plenty of activities planned for each day which made it so that it never felt like too much driving. My guide Muhammed was awesome! He was always willing to make stops for pictures whenever we wanted and his driving, despite some rough roads, was great and I never felt unsafe. He was also very attentive and worked to adjust meals accordingly for some people in our group who had dietary restrictions.

The landscape of the Palmyra Highlands is very impressive, magnificent and multicultural, the journey is very rich, the journey ends from Dushanbun-Kirgiz Biskek in Tajikistan, the whole course of 12 days along the road is impressive, Joomart is our guide to accompany us throughout the journey, along the road to try to find the right place for our accommodation, driving is very stable and humorous, and finding him as a driver is definitely the best option

We had a great 11 day trip on the Pamir. Hired 3 cars (for 14 people) and had Joomart as driver for one of the cars. He was also a great guide and caring for everybody. He was always one step ahead organising lunches, homestays, quickly managing checkpoints and organising someone to change money. Thanks for the great organisation by Joomart and preparations by Azi! Fully recommended!

We traveled the Pamir Highway with Sali. He was an excellent driver and guide. He accommodated our every request to take photographs and stop whenever we wanted. He made excellent suggestions for itinerary changes and found the best available accommodations and lunch stops. The entire Visit Alay organization is top notch and Sali is one of their stars. Don’t hesitate to book with them and request Sali as your driver.

A big thank you to our guide, Mendibay. being such a great guide during the trip. I really appreciate your kindness and flexibility throughout the journey, and I learned so much about the region. That really helped me enjoy everything to the fullest. This tour was one of the most memorable trips I've ever had. I especially loved the hikes, the peaceful morning walk at a village, the starry skies, and having a picnic surrounded by stunning landscapes. Highly recommended!
