Enjoy an incredible e-bike tour with wine tasting in the countryside of Heraklion, Crete. Starting and ending in front of Pankritio Stadium west of Heraklion and heading towards the hills and mountains of Crete, this tour allows its participants to discover the Cretan inland by e-bike without sweating or getting tired. The small picturesque villages, old historical orthodox churches and chapels, and unique centenary trees reward all visitors with their beauty and history. At the end of the tour a 4 cretan wines tasting with some greek meze will take place and after that we will be transported by car back to our starting point.

We start west of Heraklion from the beach of Ammoudara and head south towards the hinterland of Crete. After leaving the urban area behind us we enter a rural area full of vineyards and olive groves. On one side of the route we can see the holy mountain of Yioukta and on the other the highest mountain of Crete, Psiloritis. The first village we meet is Gournes, a small village built on a hill.

The experience was great. Aries (hope I’m spelling your name correctly) gave a thorough description of how to work the bikes and just the right amount of information about landmarks and the natural landscape. Dafnes winery was very nice and the wine was delicious, rivaling many Italian, Australian and Californian wines. And the history and stories that accompanied the wine added to the experience, as well as the yummy snacks. Be prepared to cycle up some steep hills, but a basic familiarity with e-bikes and riding is sufficient. Most of the ride is on country, quiet roads… about the first 3km is on busy roads within the city.
Great ride, great conversation, great wine. You won’t be disappointed.

Aris was a great guide and conversationalist. The e-bikes were great for the beautiful hills we rode up. The wine was excellent and the hosts at the vineyard were also great. Seeing a real family home at end was a great way to finish!

Unique, relaxing and memorable! My daughter and I had a blast. I have never done bike tours before. When I found out that it was 14 miles (22 kilometers) I was scared. I was imagining myself lying on the side of the road fully exhausted 🙂. Even though it was a lot of ascend, it was very easy because of e-bikes provided by Aris. Viewing points are Instagram worthy! The wine tasting at the end was very good with some unique wines unavailable outside of the island. Nice trip, good memories, great wine!

Highly recommend this e-bike tour with Aris, who is a gracious, friendly, and spectacular guide. Really enjoyed touring the backroads of Crete and soaking up the beautiful hilltop views of vineyards and olive groves dotting our path. While a couple of the hilltops were a bit challenging for me to climb, the e-bikes & promise of wine ahead smoothed the way! Our visit with Ferrniki Douloufaki of Daf wines -- one of 4 female vinters in Crete -- was a perfect celebration of our journey. Truly appreciated the chance to savor delicious local wine, engage in lively conversation, and totally unwind in an idyllic setting. Thank you Aris for sharing the hospitality & beauty of Crete with us and for making our stay so special.

It was an amazing adventure. Aris our guide was fun, friendly and very informative. The winery in Daphne was wonderful. It was one of my favorite adventures. Would do it again.
Spectacular bike ride

We visited Crete on our cruise stop. This excursion was spectacular! Aris met us by the stadium. We rode up into the hills of olive groves and vineyards. Ate figs off of the overhanging trees. Picked almonds and pomegranates. Stoped at a local winery where we sampled wine and snacked on grapes, bread and olive oil. Truly a wonderful experience. We hadn’t rode e-bikes before, which were really a must for this 12 mile trip into to the mountains. Then they dove us back to starting point. I would recommend this trip for anyone who wants to see the local side of Crete and see some exceptional views of the valley.

We had such a great time on this E-bike adventure. We were on a cruise and the meeting point is a short cab ride away (you would need a cab to get anywhere either way). The bikes are easy to use and fun to ride. This is a great way to see the beauty of Crete with an experienced and informative guide. He is so helpful and makes sure everyone is having fun. The ride ends at a winery located in a local village. It is a beautiful setting where you sample local made wine, spirits and olives/olive oil. It is a perfect day and good value for your money. Highly recommend!

We had a fabulous day on our e-bike wine tasting trip from Heraklion . Haris was an amazing guide, so friendly and fun and easy to chat with. The four of us from Canada had such a good time! It was one of the highlights of our trip. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves learning about the beautiful Greek countryside, being active, and enjoying excellent wine and company. The e-bikes were so fun to use. We had never used them before and it only took a few minutes for them to become super easy to ride. So nice to have that motor in the heat on the hills! We finished off at a beautiful winery and tasted some delicious Cretan wines . It was such an excellent trip from start to finish ! Thank you Haris ! Ann and Bruce Vancouver Island , BC, Canada

The views are amazing and we took great photos! It was a trek but definitely well worth it. Our guide Aris was great and he knew a lot about the area. And the wines were incredible! 5 stars. But you will sweat.
Crete countryside delight (e-bikes)

This was a lovely trip through the countryside, with an unexpected twist—our guide (and owner of the business) buddied up with a family friend who owns a beautiful winery located in a tiny village where the tour ends. We were treated to an amazing wine tasting experience following our ride through the hills outside the city. Our guide was a lovely young man with very good English. He was extremely accommodating and as a local, he had much to share about the region. If you want to experience the beauty of Crete— vineyards, olive orchards, fruit and nut trees in every direction with the smell of herbs & flowers surrounding you, this is the excursion for you. The biking is intermediate level with lots of hills. Even though you have e-bike assist, it’s still a bit of work!
