An off of the beaten path activity, the exploration of Hacienda Ébano, a Natural Reserve and Ranch. The customer will experience a 1km / 0.6 mile short hike through the rainforest, 2 gorgeous waterfalls with natural pools, also stunning mountains and ocean views.

In the trip, the client will have the opportunity to see wildlife such as birds, frogs, and monkeys, also many types of plants, flowers, and trees. The transportation is in a comfortable and safe 4x4 Safari style Truck - the best tool to travel the 10km / 6.2 miles through the big mountains.

The perfect end is to refresh us and swim in the Jade Waterfall, also enjoy next to the river, a Costa Rican authentic lunch wrapped in banana leaf. All in a small group, with the company of local experienced guides committed with client service.

• Hiking shoes, tennis or water-shoes (do not use flip flops)

Hacienda Ebano

Visit Ebano Natural Reserve, hiking of 1.6 km / 1 mile in a beautiful path through the Rainforest. We will see five streams and cross 2 bridges, also will have the opportunity to appreciate wildlife such as colorful frogs, birds or monkeys among others (depends on season and animals behavior), also wide biodiversity, such as tropical plants and huge trees. At the end of the trail is the Ebano Waterfalls, a double waterfall hidden in the Rainforest. The first waterfall has a pool of 13 feet / 4 meters deep, it's a huge hole in a one-piece rock, which the water through hundreds of years made it, it's safe for a swim and deep enough to jump from 8 meters / 26 feet. The second waterfall has a wider pool, with a depth from very low to 2 meters / 6 feet, perfect for families with kids.

Omgosh book this NOW! Believe the hype. Juan Carlos is AMAZING! It was justy family of four for the tour. We saw everything we wanted to see, and even more, a mama sloth with her baby. Just unbelievable. I’ll do this over and over again. The food was authentic and do delicious

Wonderful experience with Juan Carlos today at Hacienda Ebano. We took the safari vehicle for most of our excursion and a short hike to the Ebano Falls. The excursion can be done with or without the short hike. We saw parrots, toucans, hawks, howler monkey (mom & baby), red poisonous frogs and a small snake. Juan Carlos did a magnificent job spotting everything and taking the time to make sure we saw it as well. A fabulous day for our family while on vacation in OSA.

Cesar and JC at Hacienda Ebano did an excellent job guiding our family of 8 through the wildlife and waterfalls. We were treated to an amazing mountain top view of the Ocean and coastline. The food for lunch at the end was very impressive as well. Wonderful place to see the rainforest of Costa Rica.

I cannot say enough about this tour. JC was phenomenal and Cesar the ultimate host. The most striking thing was how much JC knew and how passionate he is for his believed Costa Rica. We fed off of his enthusiasm. We had a little medical event - nothing major - on the tour and we were so impressed with their care and compassion. I would totally recommend this tour and if we come back will do it again! Diane, Sue, Stacie and Jeanette

As advertised. Juan Carlos was our guide and he was great at pointing out things we would have otherwise missed. And the open-aired jeep is the way to go.

The waterfall and rainforest safari tour was the highlight of our trip. The grounds at Hacienda Ebano are beautiful and full of wildlife. Our Guide Juan Carlos made the tour so special. With him we were able to see many birds including both kinds of toucans. We saw two kinds of poison dart frogs and learned about the rainforest ecosystem. We had the waterfall to ourselves as we took a refreshing dip. We finished the tour with a delicious lunch. I can’t recommend this tour enough. If you go, please ask for Juan Carlos. He was the best tour guide we had during our entire trip and we had wonderful guides in most places. Juan Carlos shows his passion for the land and ecosystem and makes you feel like a sort of his family. Don’t miss this one.

J.C. was our tour guide and truly loves nature! He showed us so much wildlife, explained culture and various eco. We had a private tour with multiple toucans, owl, hawk, and went into our private waterfalls! The lunch was not in the banana leafs like we were hoping for......But, the food was Amazing! The staff was super friendly! After 8 days of tours, we found Juan Carlos to have provided the most Amazing Experience!

This tour was really lovely. We were a group of six, with the oldest being 82 years old and the youngest being 30. Everyone had a great time. The rivers and falls were beautiful and the guides were knowledgeable and interesting, and very friendly. I highly recommend this tour.
