Visit the iconic Edinburgh Castle with an expert guide. Admire the castle's treasures such as the Scottish Crown Jewels, St Margaret's Chapel, Mary, Queen of Scots Birthing Chamber, and more on our guided tour.
With your map in hand, your guide will lead you along the ancient cobblestone paths of this national monument. During the tour you will get to discover areas of the castle such as Hospital Square and the Western Panorama, where you can take in the breathtaking views. You will also see some of the more famous parts of the castle including: The One o'Clock Gun, Mons Meg, The Castle Esplanade, Crown Square, and more.
Your local guide will tell you stories of the incredible people who have shaped the Castle throughout the centuries. From stories about deadly banquets and daring midnight raids to the death of a queen and the birth of a king.
Be sure to set aside some time after tour for further exploration of the museums and exhibitions (not accessible during the tour).

This experience DOES NOT start at Edinburgh Castle. Please meet your guide at 379-381 High Street, Royal Mile next to the Statue of David Hume. Your guide will be holding a black and white umbrella with the EDI Tours logo on it.
Edinburgh Castle is still a functioning military garrison, therefore, the tour duration and itinerary may vary based on any ceremonial activities taking place.
Bags over 30L and suitcases are not permitted in the Castle and there are no left luggage facilities nearby

4.00We toured with Kristal who was informative and honest. Honestly, I don’t think a guided tour is needed to visit the castle, but since I procrastinated on buying tickets through the castle directly, I needed to use a tour company in order to gain access—-so, I would recommend this company to any others in a similar situation. I was able to book last minute and the meeting location was easy to find. Kristal also gave us local recommendations for restaurants and activities, which was an added bonus.

5.00We did a tour today with Edi Tours at Edinburgh Castle and it was absolutely fantastic! Our guide, Kristel, was amazing. She clearly has a deep knowledge of everything she explained, and she delivered it in a very engaging and easy-to-follow way. Her English was excellent—clear, natural, and without any accent that made it difficult to understand, which we really appreciated. She also struck the perfect balance in terms of information: not too much, not too little—just the right amount to keep it interesting without feeling overwhelming. The tour lasted around two hours, which we thought was ideal. Some tours are shorter and can feel a bit rushed, but this one felt just right. After the guided part, you also get about an extra hour to explore the castle on your own, including areas like the prisons, the Great Hall, the cathedral, and more. Overall, a wonderful experience—highly recommended!

5.00Me and my sister had a fantastic trip with Siera as our guide. She shone in the mediation and had many good stories. The tour had a good length and fit for both those who do not know anything about Scottish histore, but also those who like to nerd. Recommend!

Her wealth of knowledge was so extensive and the information she provided gave a great understanding not only of Edinburgh castle, but of Scotland itself. Her send humor also made the tour lively and fun! We are so happy we went on this tour and definitely recommend it!

5.00I had a wonderful time in the tour, our tour guide’s name was Sarah and she was amazing!! We learnt a lot about the castle’s history and also about Scottish history and culture. Even when it started raining, our tour guide kept a great attitude, it is really worth the price

5.00This tour was absolutely amazing and worth every penny! Our guide gave local and historical insights, was friendly and happy to answer all of our questions, and gave us recommendations for both inside the castle grounds and Edinburgh in general. The castle and castle grounds are gorgeous and you really just can't top hearing the Scottish accent in any situation!
