Our team have been at the forefront of the growth of Scottish Gin. 56 North is Scotland's oldest gin bar so we take a relaxed and fun approach to teaching people how gin is made.

Come and learn how we make South Loch Gin! Our gin stills are stunning and are the prefect way to learn how gin is made. We welcome you with a gin and tonic. While you enjoy your G&T we talk you through the process of making gin from botanical to bottle! You then get to try three gins made on our stills paired with premium mixers. At the end of the session you get a gin cocktail topped with bubbly to enjoy. At the end of the session you get a gin cocktail to enjoy! - This session is approximately 60-75mins long and is hosted by one of our gin team - Strictly over 18s (we operate Challenge 25 for ID) - Includes G&T on arrival, 3 gin samples, gin cocktail

5.00Gin tasting with Neil was absolutely amazing! He was a great host, explained everything clearly and made the history of gin easy to understand. Neil made the experience fun, lighthearted and brought a great energy. He really made the experience fantastic! Best tasting I’ve been to.

5.00Explanation of gin distillery by nils. Moment at the top! Very funny, very interesting with a gin tasting then cocktail at the end I advise this experience to discover gin, and even more with nils!!!!

5.00What a lovely way to spend an afternoon! Me and my husband booked the South Loch Distillery Tour & Tasting. It was my birthday which I didn't mention to anyone because I don't want to make a fuss about it but it was definitely a good idea how to spend my day! There were only four of us so it was quite intimate (good thing!) and Neil was a great host. He's obviously an expert on gin and also a very entertaining guy! I learned new things which is always fun. The gin itself was superb, too. Lots of nice & unexpected botanical flavors. Would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

5.00It was a fantastic and cozy experience with great stories and lovely gin. We became smart about gin in general and got a good story on the history of the place. James was a both nice and funny narrator.
