  We were picked up at our hotel and had a driving tour on the way to inverness. There were two routes to pick from and then it is really up to you. The driver Lawrence from "Highlander Private Tours" was wonderful. He was a wealth of knowledge and really had an interest in asking you what you wanted to see and he was able to craft the journey to fit. Good narration and conversation on the drive. The famous highland weather was ever-present but even if the true sight was obscured the mist was beautiful in its own right. I would love to be able to take this adventure again. I hope I can make it happen

  Lawrence was an incredible tour guide offering insight to Inverness and places in between. Funny, efficient and lovable…. We enjoyed every minute! Highly recommend this tour company.   Absolutely fabulous! Fantastic driving and commentary all with thoughtful consideration of our comforts. I am prone to motion sickness so was a bit anxious prior to the trip but never felt a qualm with Billy at the helm.

  Our family did a number of days with Billy. He's the best. We have a number of people in our group who get motion sick very easily and frankly we were nervous about driving around for so long with a new driver. Fear not. Billy is a SMOOTH DRIVER. We were comfortable and could enjoy the scenery and commentary about the beautiful country. Billy is warm, funny, and considerate. He was always there right when we needed him with a warm van and lots of snacks!!! If you're an anxious traveler, Billy will put you at ease. Honestly might name my first born after him. Thanks Billy!!

  Our daylong drive from Edinburgh to Inverness was outstanding. We spent time in the Glencoe Valley, Loch Ness and other unforgettable spots. Billy our driver was so knowledgeable and engaging! He made the hours together flyby. We’d highly recommend this trip.

  I spent four unforgettable days in Scotland in May 2025, accompanied by two remarkable individuals: Mr. Billy and Mr. Lawrence. This journey wasn’t just about landscapes — it was about the way we moved through them, and how each route revealed something different about the soul of this country. Mr. Lawrence offered a route that felt like an unfolding tapestry of Scottish history. Every stop had depth, every story stirred my curiosity. With him, the road was lined with historical insights, meaningful landmarks, and moments that made me feel deeply connected to the past. It was rich, fulfilling, and left me wanting to know more. His path answered questions I didn’t even know I had. Mr. Billy, on the other hand, led us through a more visual and sensory route — one filled with seaside villages, panoramic coastal views, and tranquil open roads. One of the most memorable moments with him was visiting filming locations from the Outlander series. As a fan, I was truly amazed — not only by the beauty of the sites themselves, but also by how the real history intertwined with the fictional world of the show. His choices reflected a deep understanding of Scotland’s serene beauty. Both experiences were exceptional, and what truly stood out was how each route offered both knowledge and beauty. There was no competition — only complementary reflections of a country so layered and generous in what it shares with those who seek it. • The Amazing Highlander Tours

  The best decision I made was booking a tour with Lawrence! We were scheduled for one tour, which ended up turning it two and then four! Lawrence was so patient throughout the planning and the changes of our plan and was so accommodating to everything I was asking. We started our 4 days with them with a transfer from Edinburgh to Inverness, which included the breathtaking scenic route. Day two with Lawrence (which may have been our favorite) was an amazing day touring the Isle of Sky. We were then fortunate to meet his brother, Billy. A half day touring the Loch Ness, Kirkhill and our last day was a whiskey tour and Pitlochry on our transfer back to Edinburgh. All the sites were so beautiful and accompanied by Lawrence and Billy’s historical and personal knowledge of their homeland made it that much more special. We saw more than we ever anticipated, learned more than expected and loved every bit of Scotland’s old history and new (Outlander sites). I recommend Highlander private tours. If you are considering it don’t think twice and secure your dates! We look forward to returning and thank you to Lawrence and Billy for making our family trip so special! We got more family photos on this trip than any other because both gentleman are so kind and ask to take photos.

  Don’t look any further Lawernce and his team are hands down the best tour company in all of Scotland! We hired them for our family of 16 including 8 children under 14 and I infant for 3 days. Our first tour was the transfer tour from Edinburgh to Inverness and they were so knowledgeable and willing to customize it to our group. The next day they picked us up in Inverness and surprised us with a day full of kid friendly focused activities. Our last tour with them was to Skye and it was the most picturesque day! Lawernce and Ken knew so much about Scottish history and happily catered to our group especially with so many small children. Thank you so much for making our first time in Scotland so memorable. Highly recommend!
