Discover the beauty of Norway's natural landscapes on an easy-going guided nature tour with transportation from Eidfjord.

From Eidfjord we start the a scenic drive and follow the Eio River, enter the Måbø Valley.

You arrive at the Hardangervidda mountain plateau to take in vast views over the awe-inspiring National Park. From here you'll also get unobstructed views of Vøringfossen, an impressive 182-meter waterfall thundering into the Måbø Valley.

Enjoy leisure time to take in the panorama, stop for a slice of homemade cake at a local hotel, or join the guide for an easy hike via a 47-meter-wide walking bridge over a gorge.

Continue the tour to the uniquely impressive Sysen Dam, where you can also catch sight of Norway's second-largest glacier. Take one last stop on a mountain plateau to appreciate the scenic landscape, before heading back.

note: until mid-may residual snow may result in a change of itinerary. The opening day of the hotel varies, usually it's in the end of may.

After a convenient pickup, we will kickstart our adventure by taking the winding roads of Måbødalen, where each turn reveals a breathtaking view. This route is known as one of Norway's renowned 18 scenic roads! As we ascend, your guide will share captivating stories, all the while you see the landscape transform before your eyes. The higher we climb, the rockier the terrain becomes, with fewer trees and a more rugged ambiance, eventually leading us to the largest high-altitude plateau in Northern Europe.

Tour operator, Velkommen Norway (VN), failed to arrive at pickup spot 9am 03/08/2025. A total of 17 people, a number of whom had received tour confirmation from VN 02/08/2025, were waiting for tour operator to arrive at The Joker supermarket. Differing pickup times were on email communications from VN: 9am, 9:15am and 9:30am. At 9:40am, one guest rang the number on booking confirmation - the person who answered the call, advised they "would the tour operator and call the guest back". No call was returned from VN. After waiting for over an hour, the group purchased tickets from an alternative operator. To date, no refund has been received from Viator or Velkommen Norway nor any communication regarding explanation for failure to collect the 17 people who booked the tour. (booking #: 1235714277 for 2 adults)

The bus picked me up right by the cruise ship. Great ride going thru the countryside with mountains all over and the water falls were beautiful!! Everything that was in the description was true.

Fantastic trip...........seen a lot and a very nice guide (Bas) who told a lot about the area and the history and the legends. Very rewarding!
Beautiful excursion of beautiful nature in Eidfjord. I recommend this excursion to everyone.

Very nice excursion. The bus ride itself is already very nice. Bas the tour guide told interestingly and enthusiastically what we encountered. I was able to see a lot with a foldable electric wheelchair. At the falls was a piece and a plateau suitable for wheelchair users. I could watch here for an hour while the other family members walked the stairs back over the falls. The driver made sure that the wheelchair was safely transported in the hatch in the bus. We had fortunately radiant weather that morning. A nice excursion to see the nature of Eidfjord.

Excellent excursion & tour guide. Beautiful fjord & glacier. Empire Strikes Back fans...a must see....you know the scene. Salome was terrific.

We went on the Eidfjord tour to Voringfossen Waterfall and National Park tour. Our tour guide was a young French women who shortened her name to ‘Sam’. She was a great tour guide. She clearly knew and loved the location. She gave a well conceived presentation of the local geology and history. These can be dry topics, but she was very interesting. We learned a lot and loved the views.

Wonderful tour by a 45 passenger bus. The pick up was right next to the ship had no difficulty. We had a wonderful tour guide. Her name was Sam. We visited the waterfall, the Hydro electric dam and the lake, saw glaciers, and also visited the largest national park in Norway. Very full itinerary and we had a wonderful time.

Fantastic and overwhelming nature! At the falls it was a steep and arduous descent. But absolutely worth it! Nice guide Alexa who told many facts about the area and culture.

The trip was great but the stops took too long. This should have been a 2.5 hour trip, not 3.5. Guide was informative.

Wonderful scenery, particularly at the falls which has a walkway and viewing points from many different angles. Well worth the visit, tour, and was value for money.
