No special footwear is needed since the trail is smooth enough for sandals, yet immersive enough to feel the rainforest come alive around you. As you walk, you’ll hear the river guiding you, sometimes soft and sometimes louder depending on the mountain’s rainfall, creating a peaceful soundtrack that welcomes you into El Yunque’s heart.

To complete the experience, we finish the day at the famous Luquillo Kiosks, where you can enjoy local cuisine right by the beach before heading back.

5.00I rated this tour excellent because our tour leader, Yatzel was so kind and informative. My friend and I would not have been able to completely participate in the hike, if Yatzel hadn’t have been right at our sides to assist in some of the trickier parts of the path. That said, I would caution some participants with joint issues that this hike is not “easy”. We were rewarded with beautiful scenery and the peaceful sounds of a rainforest while reaching our destination, a clean, clear pool. We had adequate time to enjoy this special feature. Then we went back up to our transportation, and on to lunch at Luquillo kiosks, under the tutelage of Yatzels food stall recommendations (so many too choose from). Delicious food and drink and Informative conversations about the history of the area and Puerto Rico followed. We also had time to walk the beach and get our feet wet in the ocean., I would definitely seek out Yatzel for more experiences in the future.

5.00If you are planning to hike to El Yunque, do yourself a favor and book this tour. Our guide (Yatzel) was absolutely incredible and truly made the entire experience unforgettable. His infectious energy and great personality set the perfect tone for the day. Hiking a rainforest can be a bit challenging at times, but he was the ultimate hype-person -constantly encouraging me, keeping the morale high, and making sure no one felt behind. The swim was also exhilarating.

5.00This tour was great. We wanted to explore El Yunque but not too strenuous of a hike. After a short hike, we had a relaxing time in a swimming spot in the rain forest, then afterwards enjoyed lunch at the Luquillo kiosks and a swim in the ocean. Yatzel is a wonderful tour guide. He is very knowledgeable about the rainforest, Puerto Rico and just many things in general. He is a great vibe to spend time with. He also offered restaurant recommendations and other activities for the rest of our stay. I highly recommend this tour and Yatzel to anyone who wants a peaceful experience in El Yunque.

5.00From the time Yatzel picked us up we were learning about the Peurto Rican culture. The rain forest was an incredible experience!! The explanation about the trip/guided tour was everything spot on. I was worried it would be to difficult for me Yatzel let us know where to hold on and pointed all kinds of wildlife !! He was patient with our group as one of the friends needed extra assistance! He was more than happy to help her and teach her ways to go down safely !! We all appreciated him for that !!! His personality is well suited as he was knowledgeable helpful and gave us information on what else to explore in Peurto Rico. We had the BEST day going in this tour !!!

5.00This was a wonderful excursion. We were looking for something in the rainforest that did not include waterslides or long hikes. This was a gentle hike to a beautiful hidden pool, and we enjoyed it immensely. Yatzel was very informative and kept showing us interesting flora and Fana. He was also very concerned with our safety, which we appreciated. Luquilla was also beautiful, and our dinner was excellent! All in all an excellent excursion.

5.00We had a great experience with Yatzel from Hiking Hangeo Tours. His hiking tour was easy going, knowledgeable of local history and comfortably safe. Communication before and after the trip was clear and professional. Dinner afterwards was enjoyable with our guide and new friends. Highly recommend this tour!

5.00Super easy and scenic hike. The walk took about 15 minutes and the river was gorgeous and isolated where we hung out for about an hr before getting dinner at a beautiful sunset dinner. Our guide was super cool and gave great life advice as well just fun to hang out with, definitely recommend.
