• Amazing Tour with Ingrid

  When my family decided to visit Puerto Rico, visiting El Yunque was at the top of our list. We were looking for an experience that focused on the rainforest and were not as interested in the waterfalls. If that is what you are looking for, I highly recommend this tour! It was beautiful, and we learned so much about the rainforest and the Taino people. Ingrid was a wonderful tour guide and was happy to take pictures of everyone. She also did a great job of keeping track of all 14 of us on the tour, both individuals who moved faster and who moved slower. Pickup was smooth. As others have noted, you may get carsick on the road up to the rainforest; I didn't, and I get carsick often, but my brother did, who never gets carsick. Ingrid was a great driver - the road was just very windy. If you get motion sick easily, plan accordingly. This tour was the perfect blend of rigorous and immersive for my family. My mother doesn't have the best knees and was worried about the stairs, but this was not a big problem. What was a bigger problem was height - she and I are very short, and some areas of the trail required someone to give us a hand to get up to the next spot. A different relative can be unsteady, and they were just fine on this tour, albeit with some check ins and a little help here and there. Use your best judgement if someone in your group has mobility issues - I saw one man not on our tour walking with a cane on the trail. Our group wore hiking shoes, which I highly recommend! I have three main notes regarding our tour: for one, I wish that it was longer! In particular, our stops at the observation tower, waterfall, and little lake definitely could have been longer. More importantly, one family in our tour group was trying to rush the experience - they needed to be back at their hotel by 3, and they apparently had not planned accordingly. They were pushing for lunch to be to-go and other things I could not hear. Although we were able to sit down and did not have to eat on the go, I wish this would not have even been discussed; I feel the length of the tour on TripAdvisor is very clear, and one small group should not be able to push for the tour to be shorter due to their lack of planning. Additionally, a random couple kept trying to tag along with our group, getting between the tour guide and my family. I wish that Ingrid had been more forceful about them not tagging along in our group - after all, they didn't pay, and their child was quite noisy. Overall, I highly recommend this tour! I would absolutely book with this company again. I would love if this company had an option for a longer tour to allow for more time at some spots.

  Great trip! We enjoyed the hike up into the forest (good exercise but not too challenging for group members), fun to swim, see waterfalls (some group members climbed the rocks to get closer), go up the lookout tower, and learn about the rainforest and local history. Our guide, Isaac, did a fantastic job leading us, encouraging everyone, and sharing his knowledge. Would definitely recommend!

  Isaac was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable and kind. We had our kids with us ages 5 & 8 and it was perfect for us. Everything as described for the tour. Lunch was delicious!

  This was an amazing experience. The team was communicative ahead of the trip; they kept us posted about their arrival time at our hotel to pick us up. We felt like we got to see a lot of El Yunque on a comfortable schedule with added natural or cultural experiences in a small group. Ingrid was our guide. She was so knowledgeable, warm, and ensured we had an incredible experience. She clearly loves her job and does it well. We were blessed to have her as our guide. We have already recommended this trip to friends who are traveling to PR later this week and would definitely this for families or even just adults.

  Isaac was a great guide. He made sure we saw different insects, flowers, and even a coqui. However, he did show up 20 minutes late and I had to call him to find out where he was. However the way he drove made up for the lost time. This is a good way to see a small part of el Yunque quickly without getting too tired or wet. It worked for something to do before my evening flight. The hike was about 40 minutes and not very challenging but some parts are steep and rocky. The swimming part is optional and not really amazing but it was fine to chill on the rocks for 30 minutes. The food stop was fine but I really enjoyed more smoothie more.

  Isaac was a great tour guide. We were able to see a lot of fauna and native animals. He even had us hold stick bugs. The trail was easy to navigate, and Isaac explained everything every step of the way!!! Definitely a must if you want to truly experience the El Yunque and learn a lot about PR’s treasured rainforest!!

  Our guide Benny was the best! He shared a river of information regarding Puerto Rico's history, its ecosystem, and had a great sense of humor. I chose this tour because it is not as challenging as some. For me it was a perfect introduction to a day in the rainforest!

  

  

  

  

  

• Beautiful Scenery CAUTION for older travelers

  The tour was easy to book, even though I booked only a couple of days in advance. The price was reasonable for a couple visiting Puerto Rico. Isaac was a very good guide. CAUTION if you are an older traveler (80+) be aware that the walking on the rainforest tour is very steep, and there are very tall steps. My husband was unable to complete the walk and so he and I had to turn back. It was a good tour, even though we did not complete it in the rainforest. Being younger, Isaac‘s pace was too fast for my husband. The smaller van was very nice with only 14 people. It was convenient also that they were able to pick us up at our hotel when I contacted them in advance without an additional charge.
