El Yunque National Forest
We are going to visit the eastern side of our rainforest El Yunque for a fun adventure. A hike guided by a local tour guide of 30 to 40 minutes long on a muddy, slippery but fun path where we would learn about the flora and fauna hidden in the mountains (PROPER SHOES ARE RECOMMENDED). Also get to swim on fresh, natural pools, have fun on a natural waterslide, cliff jumps and rope swing (water activities are optional).
Luquillo Beach
After the hike we are going to visit one of the oldest markets in Puerto Rico, Los Kioskos de Luquillo, to have a delicious puertorrican lunch close to the beach (food price not included).

5.00We are currently visiting Puerto Rico and had an unforgettable experience at El Yunque. From the moment we arrived, everything was exciting—especially all the fun activities like jumping and sliding through the waterfalls. It was truly an adventure our whole family will always remember. A big part of what made this experience so special was our guide, Lilo. She has such an amazing spirit, made us feel comfortable the entire time, and kept everything fun and engaging. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does, and it made a huge difference for all of us. Our whole family loved every moment, and we would 100% recommend this experience to anyone visiting Puerto Rico.

5.00This tour was absolutely beautiful!!! I don’t even know where to start. Our tour guide Adriana was kind, patient, supportive, sooo down to earth, free spirited, passionate and so much more. I truly cannot recommend her enough. She made sure we were all safe and comfortable the entire time. She went above and beyond!! She brought fresh fruit, cut it up for us and even used rocks from the rainforest to draw on our faces (which was such a fun and unique touch). She also really took the time to get to know us personally which made the whole experience feel so special. On top of that, she was incredibly knowledgeable about the natural life in the rainforest and you could tell how passionate she is about what she does. My friends loved it just as much as I did & we all agreed it was the highlight of our trip. Also I can’t forget the beautiful singing she did during the hike ❤️ The admission fee was $70 (we booked ahead but it’s usually 85pp) which was 100% worth it considering transportation was included. She picked us up in San Juan, drove us to the rainforest and even made a pit stop for breakfast along the way. The group size was perfect, just 13 people total (9 of us + a family of 4) so it never felt crowded and stayed very personal. We explored the rainforest from about 8am–12pm, which was the perfect amount of time without feeling rushed. After the hike, she even took us to Luquillo Beach where we had about an hour and a half to relax, shop around, and eat some delicious food. It was the perfect way to end the day. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who loves nature, wants a more intimate group experience and is looking to truly connect with the rainforest.

5.00Me and my boyfriend spent his birthday on this tour with Lilo as our guide and it was such an incredible experience. I’m so happy she was our guide! She’s incredibly sweet and knowledgeable. It was super adventurous and fun and scary at moments which made it even more memorable. Just trust in your guide and embrace the entire experience and everything that it has to offer. Book book book & look nowhere else.

5.00I had Lilo as my guide and she had the best energy, super informative, and the best playlist!! I highly recommend this tour, probably my favorite excursion on my trip!! This hike leaves earlier than other trips, so you can beat some of the crowd. Some of the other el yunque hikes listed on viator make it sound like you drive to a viewing point and then walk around for 10 min before driving to the next spot. This hike is NOT like that, you really are hiking in the rainforest for a good 2 hours!! I would rate this hike as moderate difficulty as you have to climb over some rocks and walk through low parts of the river. I brought hiking sandals and did fine. You will get plenty of food on this trip too! We were picked up in the parking lot of a grocery store, from there we stopped at a delicious smoothie place for breakfast. During the middle of the hike my group was treated to some fresh fruit. After the hike you go to luquillo for some beach time and shopping/eating at the kiosks. You do not need to pack a hiking bag for this! The guide will have you leave everything in the van. The most you can bring is a phone in a waterproof case. I went as a solo female traveler, had the best time, and felt super safe. The guide takes pics/videos of you throughout the hike which is super nice to have especially when traveling solo!! Again I cannot recommend this experience enough!! Do it!!

5.00If you’re visiting El Yunque National Forest, you HAVE to book with Lilo—She made the whole experience unforgettable—super fun, incredibly knowledgeable, and full of great energy. She took us to amazing hidden spots and made everything feel like an adventure with a friend. 10/10 recommend—best tour guide ever!
