Because this is a private tour, everything is up to you. You can chose where you want to go, how long you want to stay up there, etc.
If you are avid walkers, we can go to the top of El Yunque Peak, Mount Britton, Tres Picachos, The Rock, etc. From up there we can see both, the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. We will walk through the cloud forest.
You don't have to wait for other people. You don't have to rush either. You can stop to take pictures if you like (but don't get your camera wet!). If you get tired we can stop. If you want to go faster, we can do that too.
This is not a regular commercial tour. I will show you different places. I will give you a lot of interesting information in a fun/informal way. You can get to "feel", "breath" and "enjoy" the rainforest.
"Private Tours of Old San Juan" operates under Special Use Permit from the USDA Forest Service on the El Yunque National Forest, permit number YNF-22061

5.00I can’t say enough good things about our El Yunque tour. Javier was truly incredible—and I’d go as far as to say one of the best guides we’ve ever had (and we’ve had a lot). Before our trip, Javier worked with me to create the perfect customized experience—from itinerary to meet-up location and transportation to tour duration. (Did I mention there were 22 people in our group, too, with ages ranging from 10 to 70-somethings?! Javier worked it out expertly. During the tour, you can really tell Javier loves what he does—he’s extremely knowledgeable about the flora, fauna and history of the area. He’s kind, gregarious, funny, graceful, intelligent. Basically, everything you’d want in a tour guide. And the driver, Mikey, navigated us through the rainforest like a pro, and was an absolutely delight along the way. So book this tour. You’ll not only love it, it’ll become a core memory—especially if you’re lucky enough to get Javier as your guide.

5.00I booked through Viator and Bryan (aka Chucky) was our tour guide. He was AMAZING. We got out there first thing and enjoyed the entire hike, including the natural slide, high jump, and rope swing. I would NOT recommend this for children younger than 10 unless they do a lot of hiking. The rocks were challenging even for some adults in our group!

5.00Absolutely spectacular and stunning. Javier so appreciates the mountain. Its phases be they rainy or cloudy or pouring. After all it is a rainforest. Courteous. Informative. Skilled and appreciative of the guests. We would book again.

5.00We booked Javier for a full day private rainforest tour for El Yunque. Javier is very knowledgeable about the rainforest and was a great tour guide throughout the entire day. He brings all of the necessary equipment and is very patient and understanding - providing many breaks along the way to relax and recharge. We summited El Yunque mountain and the adjacent Roco El Junque rock formation, and really enjoyed a cool dip in the river at the base of the national forest park. We highly recommend taking a dip in the river at the end of the day as it was very refreshing after a long hike up and down the mountain. The views and vistas at the top of the mountain are very picturesque to say the least. Overall I’d recommend Javier’s private tours to anyone looking for more flexibility, knowledge, and personal attention especially compared to the typical group tours. Every tour that Javier provides is catered toward your specific wants and needs - no two tours are alike. Exactly what we wanted - we will definitely use Javier again on our next trip to PR! 😎

5.00Javier was an amazing guide! He catered our trip perfectly for our family. We traveled with our 3 very young children and my older parents. My mom has a bad knee and is not very mobile. Javier made certain she got to see as much as possible. He spent time with each individual and made sure to keep the children interested as well. Javier was amazing with the kids! He listened patiently as they asked questions or told him about different things in their life and he responded to each with humor and fun! Javier is extremely knowledgeable and taught us all lots. This was the best day of our two week trip by far! We highly recommend Javier!
