‏Stop 1: Moses’ Altar and the 12 Pillars ‏At Mount Sinai’s base, Moses built an altar and 12 pillars for Israel’s tribes. Ten stones remain, aligning with biblical descriptions. Nearby enclosures suggest it was a worship site. ‏Stop 2: The Golden Calf Altar ‏Near the mountain, a flat rock marks where the Israelites, led by Aaron, made the golden calf. Bull carvings, possibly linked to Egyptian worship, highlight its significance. ‏Stop 3: The Split Rock of Horeb ‏In the desert stands the towering Split Rock of Horeb. Tradition holds that Moses struck it, bringing forth water. This site remains a symbol of faith and survival. ‏Stop 4: Amalek’s Battlefield ‏Stop 5: The Oasis of Elim ‏After the bitter waters of Marah, the Israelites reached Elim, a paradise with 12 wells and 70 palms. Described in Exodus and by Josephus, it remains a haven in the wilderness.
