It is known for its significance as a frankincense tree reserve and is often referred to as the "Frankincense Park" .This site is an integral part of the Land of Frankincense World Heritage property in Oman. Wadi Dawkah is home to a large number of Boswellia sacra trees, also known as the frankincense trees. These trees produce the resin known as frankincense, which has been a valuable commodity for centuries, used in religious ceremonies, perfumes, traditional medicine, and more. The site is not a traditional park in the sense of recreational areas but rather a protected area aimed at preserving the natural habitat of these historic and culturally significant trees. Visitors can explore the groves and learn about the history and cultural importance of frankincense in the region.
The Ubar Archaeological Site is believed to be the remains of the legendary city mentioned in ancient texts. It provides insight into the history of the region's trade routes, economy, and cultural interactions. 5.00For me was a really nice experience and an adventure. Sliding on the dunes, sunset on top, camel petting and ... not least, star gazing. In my opinion there is not an option not to go! So book now, because this guide might be busy! You wouldn't want to go with any other guide.

5.00We went to Dunes, visited the Camel Shelter and spent and amazing Day with our friend, Mohamed! Kids loved the sleigh ride on the sand, we loved the falafel snack shared by Mohamed and overall we built lovely memories from our Oman vacay!

5.00An absolutely incredible desert experience in Oman! The desert tour with Mohammed was one of the highlights of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized, we felt safe at all times, and the landscapes were simply breathtaking. Mohammed is an outstanding guide — friendly, professional, and truly passionate about what he does. We enjoyed every single moment. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience — it’s a must-do!

5.00We knew of Mohamed from other reviews and recommendations and we really took some time to decide if we book him for the trip or not, and now I can say that it was the best choice! He is a very professional guide, open to answer your questions, and a very good english speaker, he is calm and kind, and full of surprises also. The trip included a stop at the frankincense trees - very interesting to see how it is havested. Also we stopped at a camel farm (saw some black camels for the first time) and drank some fresh camel milk, and we finished our trip in the desert dunes. We had some adventurous rides there, we took some great pictures, and Mohamed was kind enough to take pictures of us, and even show us some not so crowded places. And of course we watched the beautiful sunset on top of the dunes. It is a great experience that you must try! I highly recommand Mohamed as a your guide, he is amazing. 🔝

5.00Amazing desert sunset experience in the Empty Quarter. The landscapes were stunning, but what really made the tour special was the guide – professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. Everything felt safe, well organized and authentic. Highly recommended if you visit Salalah!
