Wadi Dawkah is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located near the city of Salalah . It is known for its significance as a frankincense tree reserve and is often referred to as the "Frankincense Park" .This site is an integral part of the Land of Frankincense World Heritage property in Oman. Wadi Dawkah is home to a large number of Boswellia sacra trees, also known as the frankincense trees. These trees produce the resin known as frankincense, which has been a valuable commodity for centuries, used in religious ceremonies, perfumes, traditional medicine, and more. The site is not a traditional park in the sense of recreational areas but rather a protected area aimed at preserving the natural habitat of these historic and culturally significant trees. Visitors can explore the groves and learn about the history and cultural importance of frankincense in the region.
The Ubar Archaeological Site is believed to be the remains of the legendary city mentioned in ancient texts. It provides insight into the history of the region's trade routes, economy, and cultural interactions. The site includes ruins of buildings, walls, and wells, suggesting the presence of a thriving settlement that was likely involved in the frankincense trade and connected to ancient trade routes. 5.00My children and I had a great experience!!!! Although initially, due to a health problem of the guide who was supposed to pick us up for the group tour, it seemed that the excursion had been skipped, the organization within two hours organized a "private" tour with an upgrade with sunset in the desert to apologize for the two-hour wait we had... What about it? Absolute seriousness and 100% customer satisfaction. And we were VERY SATISFIED!!!! Our Fahad guide was outstanding! I recommend everyone to have this experience with them because they were fantastic in every respect!

5.00An absolutely incredible desert experience in Oman! The desert tour with Mohammed was one of the highlights of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized, we felt safe at all times, and the landscapes were simply breathtaking. Mohammed is an outstanding guide — friendly, professional, and truly passionate about what he does. We enjoyed every single moment. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience — it’s a must-do!

5.00We knew of Mohamed from other reviews and recommendations and we really took some time to decide if we book him for the trip or not, and now I can say that it was the best choice! He is a very professional guide, open to answer your questions, and a very good english speaker, he is calm and kind, and full of surprises also. The trip included a stop at the frankincense trees - very interesting to see how it is havested. Also we stopped at a camel farm (saw some black camels for the first time) and drank some fresh camel milk, and we finished our trip in the desert dunes. We had some adventurous rides there, we took some great pictures, and Mohamed was kind enough to take pictures of us, and even show us some not so crowded places. And of course we watched the beautiful sunset on top of the dunes. It is a great experience that you must try! I highly recommand Mohamed as a your guide, he is amazing. 🔝

5.00We booked Mohamed for a full experience in the Empty Quarter 🏜️🌵. We enjoyed to the fullest almost 24 hours of adventure: drank camel 🐪 milk, watched the sunset on top of the dunes, slept in a Beduin camp, listened to nighttime stories next to the bonfire and were mesmerized by the stars by midnight. Mohamed is a professional tour guide, we had lots of interesting discussions and discovered many things about the culture and surroundings. He has the best tips to make sure you get the most out of the Omani experience. ❤️ We want to come back to explore more of the beauty of this country!

Sunset in the desert and stargazing!✨️ To be a memorable&perfect experience, you need a local guide, as he is Mahdi! Professionalism, hospitality, friendly, fluent english, confort, great car; all together in an authentic & amazing experience! 5.00I booked the sunset dunes experience in Salalah with no expectations, but it turned out to be one of the main highlights in the trip. The dunes were breathtaking, certainly, but what made the whole trip unforgettable was Mohamed. He knew exactly where to take us for the best view points of the sunset away from the crowds, timed the stops perfectly, brought us snacks and made sure we're safe and sound, and made the whole trip feel both safe and exciting with super cool bashing in the dunes!
