Red Shanked Douc Langurs are endangered primates and almost found only in Vietnam. Son Tra is where these creatures call home

Start time varies based on season to match animals active time Embark on the fascinating world of our most endangered primates, off the beaten track and away from the tourist traps. In an easy, 3 hour-adventure, across twisting mountain road, scenic terrain, we will go into secret spaces that only the Red-Shanked Douc Langurs aka Rare Monkeys know. From encountering sprightly off-springs during breeding-season (March to July) to seeing the adults or alpha male, or just to enjoy the sight of monkeys being monkeys, you’ll learn how to tell a "she" from a "he", how to tell their age, and also participate in real-time research by helping to collect data about the monkey we encounter. We will meet a supporting cast of forest creatures; birds, colorful butterflies, plants, or sometimes mongoose. On the trail we travel, I'll find chances to have a conversation with local animal photographers. We can hear the insights and see their amazing photos from them for a better understand of the monkey . Not only we go finding rare animals but also have opportunity to see an amazing hidden sceneries of Monkey Mountain, secret beach, altogether will combine to make our trip full of surprises.

Extremely great experience. The tour guides are very passionate about nature and they keep the tour very ethical, making sure we are not disturbing the monkeys. We saw heaps of different families and would 100% do this tour again when we come back.

We enjoyed a lot! Leo and Cillian were very friendly and kind especially to my kids (5 and 6). Also safe drivers! We saw quite a few different groups of monkeys. We were so lucky to see monkeys were crossing the road right in front of us!! Cillian told us that they wanted to cross the road so we were ready to take pictures. *the pictures were taken by Leo. It's a bit pricey, but it's definitely worth it!

10/10 tour! Got amazingly close to the langurs and both our guides were incredibly friendly and helpful, your given loads of interesting information about the langurs and just how special they are. The tour can seem expensive at the start but it’s great value for money and you definitely won’t regret spending it!!

My experience with Leo was great! He is very passionate about respecting the wildlife and ensuring his clients have a good time. He has great eyesight and was able to find quite a few different groups of monkeys we were able to observe and take pictures of. He did really well at helping me position myself to get a good angle without scaring the monkeys. He was able to take some more professional photos with his camera and even shared them on Whatsapp after. It was a really cool experience I highly recommend for animal lovers!

One of the best tours I’ve ever done!! Alan and Luke were great guides and showed us so many monkeys! We loved the drive on the motorbike! They also provided binoculars and Alan brought his camera to take great photos that he sent us!

I had an amazing experience on the Son Tra Mountain tour. The highlight was seeing the red-shanked douc langurs in their natural habitat. These monkeys are even more beautiful in person than in photos, with their striking colors and surprisingly expressive faces. Our guide Cillian was knowledgeable and respectful of the wildlife, making sure we observed from a distance without disturbing them. They provided water and some local fruit while we over looked Da Nang City which was a nice way to end the tour. If you are staying in Da Nang or even just passing through, taking this tour is a must.

Leo was a manager and a driver on a motorcycle tour, and every time he went, it was so nice. And I saw the most important madmonkey and I was so cute and happy! I'll go again next time. Going alone or in a couple would be fun. Recommended.

It was a very interesting experience, we only made an appointment the night before and responded very quickly. Our guides were cillian and alan, who waited patiently at our door for almost 20 minutes while picking us up. They've also been patient and friendly in the search for monkeys, they know their habits well and it was a very good experience. They will also always be concerned about our state, asking carefully how we feel and giving us fruit and mineral water. highly recommended cillian and alan.
