Red Shanked Douc Langurs are endangered primates and almost found only in Vietnam. Son Tra is where these creatures call home

Having an opportunity to see a living creature right next to intinction is precious

Extra charge of 10usd on National Holidays 1Jan & 16-20Feb2026 Embark on the fascinating world of our most endangered primates, off the beaten track and away from the tourist traps. In an easy, 3 hour-adventure, across twisting mountain road, scenic terrain, we will go into secret spaces that only the Red-Shanked Douc Langurs aka Rare Monkeys know. From encountering sprightly off-springs during breeding-season (March to July) to seeing the adults or alpha male, or just to enjoy the sight of monkeys being monkeys, you’ll learn how to tell a "she" from a "he", how to tell their age, and also participate in real-time research by helping to collect data about the monkey we encounter. We will meet a supporting cast of forest creatures; birds, colorful butterflies, plants, or sometimes mongoose. On the trail we travel, I'll find chances to have a conversation with local animal photographers. We can hear the insights and see their amazing photos from them for a better understand of the monkey . Not only we go finding rare animals but also have opportunity to see an amazing hidden sceneries of Monkey Mountain, secret beach, altogether will combine to make our trip full of surprises.

Highly recommend! Our tour started with a ride through the Son Tra Peninsular, a beautiful area and stunning landscape. It did not take long for us to spot our first Red Shanked Duoc Langurs and after that, many more came. We were very fortunate to have good weather and lots of monkey visitors. Thank you so much to Leo, Cillian, Huy and Thang. They were all very friendly, professional and informative. This tour was not only a lot of fun and we left with some great photos, but the team also taught us lots about the way of life for the Red Shanked Duoc Langurs.

The tour was excellent, saw many monkeys in very scenic locations. The guides were very helpful and friendly. The tour was well run and offered an unforgettable experience. Guides Cillian and Alan had interesting information to share throughout the tour. Highly recommended !

This trip was one of many highlights from our trip to Vietnam. Cillian, Alan, Huy and their crew were just wonderful. So passionate about the Red Shanked Douc Langurs and their preservation. Our tour guides Alan, Cillian, and Tam are very hospitable and sophisticated and gave us a great introduction of the red shanked douc langurs and other wildlife. We saw a bunch of langurs in the three-hour journey which was beyond expectation. They prepped snacks, water, and raincoats for us. Overall a chill and educational trip

Bin & Cillian were excellent guides and hosts, very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The ride was enjoyable and we saw plenty of langurs. A worthwhile experience in Danang.

My family had the most amazing time— it exceeded our expectations! The guides were exceptional and took such good care of our children (ages 6 and 9). The guides knew we were keen about getting good vantage points for photos of the red-shanked douc’s— so they positioned us perfectly, taking extra care to find good spots for my children to take photos. I can’t recommend them enough! Son Tra is truly magical— and seeing the langurs was very special. We spent just enough time at each spot to keep things moving, yet we didn’t feel rushed.

This was an exceptional day and exceeded our expectations. Travelling with my husband and two younger children, our tour guides were Bin, Brandon, Alan and Cillian. All four gentlemen were excellent and safe riders, and were great in spotting the Langur families. Bin and Cillian especially took some amazing photos and Brandon was so knowedgeable of the species and shared with patience and care. Riding safely and being in such a gorgeous natural setting, learning about the endangered Langur made for a most memorable experience in Da Nang. Thank you team, we highly recommend this tour!
Excellent Son Tra tour you must not miss! Very memorable and experiential.

A last minute gem find on google map for an adventure leads me to a perfect day seeing the Langur on the motorbike with Bao, Bin and Alan. We were so fortunate to be able to see a family of at least 5 together. The team were knowledgeable and experienced in looking out for the Langurs and very passionate with the nature and their work. They are dedicated to take care of the environment and the Langurs’ habitat by being low on noise and slow in movement. They also provided, raincoat, water and some local snacks which were delicious! The day ended with a local lunch meal at a local restaurant. I highly recommend the tour with the local team. Most importantly, a quality tour with love and kindness for the Red-Shanked Langur community.

Got picked up from my apartment by my very experienced guide Bao. Was hoping to spot a few langurs but Bao saw any movement and today was a great day, almost 50 spotted... Close up and by binoculars even got a photo on my phone, try to spot it on the photo

Cillian was a great guide! Picked me up and dropped me.off at the hotel. He spoke very good English and we stopped along the way and told me much I didn't know about vietnam. Managed to catch a look at quite a few monkeys and still when it started to rain he is prepared with rain gear and all is good!! 10 thumbs up!! Great tour guide and so friendly!
