Lake Bogoria tour is for bird-watching lovers and specifically the flamingos. Lake Bogoria is the best place for birds watching.The lake is alkaline, feeding blue-green algae which in turn feed flamingoes. At times the number of flamingoes feeding in the lake may be as high as two million. Raptors such as tawny eagles prey on the flamingoes. In total, 135 species of bird have been recorded. They include little grebe, pratincole, swift, little bee-eater, cape wigeon, yellow-billed stork, African spoonbill, augur buzzard, gabar goshawk, water dikkop, great tit, starling, hornbill and crombec.The reserve has a herd of the relatively uncommon Greater Kudu. Other large mammals include buffalo, zebra, cheetah, baboon, warthog, caracal, spotted hyena, impala and dik dik.

Pickup at Hotel, residence or Airport at early in the morning and depart for Bogoria with a brief stop at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint for photography and sightseeing. Proceed through the floor of Rift Valley past Naivasha and Nakuru town, head north past the Equator and to Lake Baringo. We arrive at Sandai Resort in Baringo for lunch followed by a relaxing afternoon. You can enjoy the naturally heated swimming pool in the early hrs of the afternoon. At 3.20 PM embark on a boat ride into Lake Baringo. Here you will enjoy seeing the African Fish eagle do the fishing, hippos and crocodiles. Take a guided walk in one of Baringo Island and later at 6.00 PM return to the resort for dinner and overnight stay. Accommodation: Sandai Resort Meals: Lunch and Dinner

On this day we wake up for breakfast and leave for the nearby Lake Bogoria National Reserve a 1: 30 min drive away. Enjoy watching flamingos for the better part of the afternoon. The lake Bogoria National Reserve is alkaline, feeding blue-green algae which in turn feed flamingoes. At times the number of flamingoes feeding in the lake may be as high as two million. Raptors such as tawny eagles prey on the flamingoes. In total, 135 species of birds have been recorded. We then leave Lake Bogoria for Nairobi with a lunch break along the way. 5.00This company was great to deal with. We had an idea for travel that didn’t quite match any of their offered options and they worked with us to create another itinerary. Our guide and driver Kariuki was great. Very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. We visited lakes Baringo and Bogoria. And overnighted at lake Baringo in the most quaint, peaceful lodging resort. Everyone there was also so friendly and helpful. Visiting Lake Bogoria with the seas of flamingos was such an epic experience that we will never forget. Thank you Kariuki and Africa Vacation Safaris! Highly recommend.

5.00A friend and I wee just in Kenya for a short time and it had been recommended to us to visit Lake Bogoria and Lake Baringo, but we couldn’t find a tour company who offered that combination. We spoke to Denis, at Africa Vacation Safaris (very last minute) and he worked incredibly quickly to arrange a tour that fit our needs at a reasonable price. He was in contact with us regularly and came to meet us at the beginning of the tour to meet our guide. Our guide, Kariuki, was excellent. He was a wealth of information on all subjects and we had great conversations and laughs over the long drive north and back. Our trips to Bogoria and Baringo were unforgettable. The flamingos at Bogoria were mind boggling. And we could have spent days in awe of their numbers and the beautiful setting. In Baringo we went on a beautiful boat ride with a local guide who again, was unparalleled. We saw a number of birds, crocodiles and hippos. The trip was so well arranged I would not hesitate to contact Africa Vacation Safaris again for our next tour of Kenya!
