With this excursion we will reach one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the Etna volcano to admire the sweet beauty of the sunrise.
The Sartorius Mountains (1,720 m) will be the place where we will wait for the sunrise. They are ancient craters formed during the 1865 eruption. The name is a tribute to Wolfgang Sartorius von Waltershausen, the first scientist to catalog the eruptions of the volcano in the 19th century. From the Sartorius Mountains we will move to the Grotta della Neve, a small lava flow tunnel used in the past as a snow mill (place where snow was kept for the summer season). The last leg of the tour will take us to Case Pietracannone. From the structure we will follow the path to Monte Fontane, crossing the lava fields of the eruptions of 1950-51 and 1979. Reached the top of the mountain (1,278 m), in front of us the panorama will open on the vast black sea of the Valle del Bove.
Returning to the meeting point we will thank our guests with a typical Sicilian breakfast.

5.00We’ve had the most magnificent ETNA-day with Augusto. At dawn he took us to a hidden spot on the rim of Valle del Bove, to admire how the first rays of a purple-orange morning sun gradually enlightened Mama-Etna. A sight of unmatched beauty. As the golden bridge of the Sun started to build up over the misty blue sea, he surprised us with an impromptue picnic, pastry served with cappuccino and freshly prepared milk froth. The entire day went on in this spirit: Augusto doing all possible to make our day on (and inside) Mama-Etna unforgettable. We learned about Sicilian history in both human and earthly dimensions, about Mama-Etna’s life (yes, a living creature!), and her journey towards the centre of the island (Palermo, beware!), Sicilian culture … and … yes … gastronomy. What a wonderful and rich gastronomy! At the end of a week-long stay, when we thought to have seen and experienced most of what Sicily has to offer, Augusto made us desperately wanting to go back. He is a highly knowledgeable personal guide with an exceptional ambition and ability to enchant his guests. We are waiting for his call, whenever Mama-Etna gets bored of chain-smoking and starts to spit fire again. We agreed to hop on the first plane then…

5.00My Fiancè booked this private tour as a surprise, he had been to Mt. Etna multiple times before. We spent a total of 13 days in Sicilia and our day at Etna with Augusto was our favorite part! Mt. Etna herself is breathtaking, but the way in which she is presented on the tour is incredible! Augustos knowledge, passion, and friendliness is something's we will always remember. I will suggest this tour to anyone visiting Sicilia. Thank you so much!!!

5.00We did a full immescio from the blue bar in Zafferana with granita and "briosc co tuppu" and arancini continuing from Zafferana to the craters of Etna .. Lino was not a guide but a friend who made us feel at home and with his stories made us live part of a distant experience, made us live the emotions in seeing how Etna and all the travelers who have been part of it and have changed the lives of Sicilians over time .. 5.00Very recommended excursion. The departure at 5:00 in the morning allows you to visit Etna when there is still virtually no one. First our Linen Guide took us to a scenic spot where you can admire the sunrise. Here he explained a lot about the volcano and its activity. We then went on to see a cave and then climbed up to the chairlifts to admire the crater. Linen always ready to explain and answer questions with professionalism and sympathy. Very recommended

5.00We lived the experience of Etna at dawn accompanied by the exceptional guide Lino. It was an experience that I highly recommend because, in addition to being very exciting, it enriches you with knowledge (and even managed to involve my 11 year old daughter). Having the fortune of being accompanied by such an expert guide allows you to fully understand the wonder and uniqueness of this wonderful volcano.
