The single biggest factor in Banh Mi Phuong's international fame was the visit and high praise from the late, celebrated American chef Anthony Bourdain on his TV show, No Reservations. Described their sandwich as "a symphony in a sandwich," which cemented its reputation worldwide and created a massive draw for international travelers. A bucket-list destination for food tourists visiting Hoi An. The shop is known for its exceptional ingredients and unique preparation, which sets it apart from other bánh mì stalls: The Bread: They are famous for using a specially baked baguette that is crispy on the outside and soft/fluffy on the inside, creating a perfect contrast in texture. Some sources indicate the owner, Ms. Phuong, developed her own unique recipe, ensuring the bread is always fresh from the oven. The Secret Sauce: The legendary element is the shop's unique, secret house-made sauce. It is described as rich, flavorful, and responsible for elevating the overall taste of the sandwich

We had a great time with SUE during the culinary tour and the country side tour. She showed us and explained many details. We were able to get an impression of country life and enjoy different dishes. She was able to answer and explain all of our questions with her friendly and open manner. SUE did a great job. Her tours were never boring. If friends of ours travel to Vietnam, we will be happy to recommend SUE.
