• Very Disappointing Experience for a relatively expensive excursion

  I am writing to share feedback regarding the evening snowmobile safari and campfire experience I attended on the 15th of March 2026, between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., in Rovaniemi. Our group consisted of 10 participants. While the overall organization of the evening was acceptable and the guides were polite and professional, I regret to say that the snowmobile aspect of the experience was disappointing. Having previously taken part in two to three snowmobile tours in Finland, this was by far the slowest experience I have encountered. For most of the excursion, our speeds were consistently between approximately 12–15 km/h, with only two brief moments reaching around 15–18 km/h. This made the ride feel extremely slow—at times, it felt as though we could have walked at a similar pace. A significant factor contributing to this was that we frequently had to stop and wait for part of the group to catch up. In particular, there was a group of five participants who appeared to be struggling considerably and did not communicate much in English. This resulted in repeated interruptions throughout the evening, further reducing the overall enjoyment of the ride. Additionally, I noticed that driving licenses were not checked prior to the activity. This raised some concerns, as it seemed possible that not all participants had prior driving experience, which may have contributed to the slow pace and frequent stops. While I understand the importance of safety and accommodating all participants, the pace of the tour significantly impacted the overall experience. I would suggest considering grouping participants by experience level or ensuring minimum driving capability requirements, so that those with prior experience can enjoy a more dynamic ride.   Not recommended for those who are not used to it. Old motorcycles, some with working problems. Only 1 guide and no rear, if you get too behind or too slow they leave you behind. In the camp, there is no infrastructure. So, if you need to go to the bathroom or go badly, pray to be rescued. Oh, bad.

  Hello everyone. With my brother we were able to do this night snowmobile ride with barbecue in a traditional Finnish shelter in the middle of nature. An unforgettable moment supervised by Antoine and Marco two people at the top who put a pleasant atmosphere. If you don't know what to do with your evening , now you do. I highly recommend .

  Good activity, very nice staff, well suited to families with young kids. Hearing about Samis around fire and BBQ was nice too. It would be great if there was the possibility to go faster with the snowmobiles (for those who feel like it). Thank you!

  Do the safartica. The organizers are very good and you can do a lot of activities. Snowmobile, sled dog , forest survival training , etc.

  Experience to do absolutely! We were accompanied by Emil, a really prepared and very helpful Italian guy. The hike lasted slightly longer than it should and we were really happy.

  We had a great experience with Safartica! The tours are well organized and well planned. It was particularly positive that the snow clothes were available on site, which minimized the effort. Raffaela was very nice and always helpful, which made the whole experience and holiday even more enjoyable. The snowmobile tour with Boris and Mayra was a highlight. He brought in personal anecdotes that brought the tour to life. Also the Finnish for beginners course was very entertaining and fun.   Never snowmobiled before, but we went for individual machines rather than riding pillion for 1/2 the trip and swapping over, and glad we did. Although we had warm clothes, we opted for their offer of snowsuits on top. Excellent trip headed by Temu our knowlegable local Finnish guide, and his helpful young Italian assistant. Wonderful feeling going along the deserted frozen Kemi River in Rovankiemi, then through the twisting forest tracks to the isolated hut and hot drinks and food at the halfway stage. Great experience, felt safe and looked after the whole trip which lasted about 3 hours.
