Join our evening tour of Ghent and discover the fascinating history, myths and legends of our city with an experienced and passionate local guide.

We take you off the beaten track to show you some highlights and hidden gems of our gorgeous city. After 1.5h we will finish the tour in the medieval quarter of Gent, very close to the city center, with a deeper understanding of Gent and perhaps some new friends!

If you cannot make it to the tour for whatever reason, please notify us, so we can open your slot to other visitors. Thank you and enjoy the tour!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Our guides are volunteers who offer tours for tips, so please bring cash to reward the guide. The charged fee only covers the cost of booking via this platform.

St Michael's Bridge

We start here with an introduction to the history of Ghent and the role the city played as a trading hub in medieval times. We also introduce you to the 3 towers of the Ghent skyline, which are best visible from this spot.

Kenny was our guide and he was so knowledgeable about the history and lore of Ghent. He had a great sense of humor and made the tour so much fun. My friends and i really enjoyed it.

The tour guide was very informative and quirky in a good way. She took us to a lot of sites and we learned a lot on our first night in Ghent and she really helped us get our bearings. It did run more than 2 hours, though.

We took the train from Brussels to Ghent and met up with our tour group. I’m so sorry I didn’t write down the guide’s name, because he was truly excellent. As a volunteer with Ghent’s historical society, he brought the city’s darker history to life in such an engaging and memorable way. I’m really glad I decided to book this tour—it ended up being a highlight of our visit.

I had Kenny as a guide and he was awesome, the group came from all over the world and it was also a fun crowd. Kenny was a very good story teller, told us that his name is unusual here in Ghent but he's definitely a local given how much he knows. Ghent is a beautiful city with lots of history and good stories. I'm so thankful I discovered Legends tours. This also isn't the first tour I did here in Ghent, I did it following the day tour but they don't overlap much so I feel like I just learned a lot in one day!
Kenny is a rock star. So much fun!

I had a great time at this tour today! I couldn’t recommend it enough. My tour guide, Kenny, was well educated on all the Ghent history. He made it fun, interactive, and very informative. This tour is by far the highlight of my trip here in Ghent.
