Perfect for lovers of architecture and discover Singapore through the lens of art and architecture.
Starting at Blair Plain conservation area, we explore a compact area of historical shophouses and terrace houses of vastly different architectural styles and reflect on the eclectic mix of Chinese, Malay and European design elements.
Next we’ll explore a local residential neighbourhood where brutalist public housing overflows with laundry and potted plants from the windows. Along the way, you will spot a Art Deco former train station on the way and we’ll discuss the style and impact it has for the city.
We will end our architecture walking tour at the glass and concrete towers of the Central Business District. You will learn about Oasia Hotel, a tropical "living tower" which is a prototype of sustainable design in the tropics, reflecting the modern architecture of the city.

Loved every minute of this fascinating walk and talk putting architecture - Peranakan shophouses, social housing and modern ecologically sustainable buildings - into a historical and social context. Great insights and thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you Carey!

My sister and her husband enjoyed P.S. in their 2023 tour, and they booked her for our group in October 2024. You know it’s a good guide when you go out of your way to schedule a second tour with the same guide. Pei Shyuan (aka P.S.) was so attentive to our needs all along the way. She even had a binder with additional information to educate us further. And when the tour was almost over she surprised us with a bonus stop at the Singapore City Gallery where we saw a large model replica of the central area of Singapore, among many other interesting displays. We would have NEVER found all these places on our own in just a few hours. It was amazing! From visiting temples to markets, street art, and riding the metro. We did it all. She even sent a recap email afterward as we asked her to remind us what we ate and where we went since we did so many things. AND... she has a great sense of humor and was fun to hang out with. Thanks again PS! - Sue, Allan, Scott & Nancy.

We did the Private Housing Tour with Kelvin and visited 3 HDBs in 3 different stages of development. We learned in detail the concept of city planners, who in a few decades have managed to design each neighborhood in such a way that residents have access to the most important everyday infrastructures (grocery, doctor, school, food court ...) in just a few steps. Alone, we would not have discovered and experienced nearly as much. Kelvin was very knowledgeable in bringing us closer to unknown sides of Singapore. Thank you for that!

This was the highlight of visit to Singapore. The tour with PS was amazing!, we are very happy that we did this next after our arrival. Because it set the tone for the rest of our stay: we knew enough to go back and try different things after the tour. It also gave us an insight of what it is like to live in Singapore by visiting places that we would probably have visited and by trying food that we might have never tried. We learned a lot about Singapore, if the past, the present, and the future. I would highly recommend anyone visiting Singapore for the first time. Whether you’re a foodie or simply curious, this tour is an unforgettable gastronomic adventure in Singapore! 🍽️

My wife and I went on the Everyday Art-chitecture tour with Kelvin. It was a great walk through a small section of Singapore and Kelvin was a great guide. The walk started in an area of shop houses with Kelvin explaining how they developed and the reasons for the different architectural elements. We then looked at three generations of public housing, finishing with a modern private building showing how plants can be used in a high rise tower. The walk took a bit over 2 hours, but did not cover a lot of distance so it was not physically demanding. It was hot so it would be a good idea to bring something to drink. The architecture was interesting, but the unexpected highlight for me was learning about Singapore’s history, particularly how people lived in the not very distant past and how that changed over time. Kelvin knows the architecture and history well, but presents it in a very natural and engaging way. If you are interested in learning about the less well known parts of Singapore I recommend getting in touch with the Everyday Tour Company.

Our group of students had an incredible time with Everyday Tour Company on their treasure hunt game tour! The clever clues had us exploring the city's landmarks and hidden spots, making the class work together as a team. The treasure hunt was a good mix of fun, learning and a little sweat! Highly recommend P.S and her company to educational institutions seeking a memorable adventure that gets your students moving and thinking. Thanks for the interactive experience! 😀

We had an excellent tour today with Kelvin. He took our group of 6 on an amazing tour showcasing food and street art in Singapore. He was extremely knowledgeable and personable. His organization was exemplary and the food stalls he chose for us were excellent. A wide range of foods at many different stalls throughout the city. His historical and current knowledge of Singapore was also excellent. Thank you so much Kelvin. An excellent tour was enjoyed by our group of six. John
