Start the tour with The Greek and Roman Museum in Alexandria boasts an impressive array of artifacts dating back to ancient Greek and Roman eras, featuring notable pieces such as the statue of Alexander the Great, Roman emperors' relics, and mummies from this Greek and Roman periods. This museum provides a diverse collection of masterpieces spanning from the 3rd century BC to the 7th century AD, offering a captivating journey through history with immersive narratives and contextual insights.
Then drive to the library of Alexandria; the biggest library in the world – now with 8 million books. Visit it’s open court where you can see the statue of Alexander the Great and the statue of Ptolemy the first, which was found underwater nearby. Our guide will explain the design of the library from outside, you will have a chance for some photo stops. Note: Alexandria library is closed on Fridays ,Saturdays & in public holidays. To enter the reading area you will need to purchase a ticket.

5.00This is newly staged and opened ,so forgive if not fully functioning .The exhibits are ranging and wonderful ,staged superbly ,especially the Crocodile Deity Temple ,complete with mummified Crocodile . We were all very excited by the entire experience and we are well travelled and not easily impressed ,so were excited to visit the shop to buy books and support in any way possiblle .Oh no ! The shop is not ooppenn yet ,disappointing indeed . But a good reason to return to Alexandria ,stay at The Metropole ,revisit the wonderful Museums .

5.00Karim was a great guide. We visited the library on our own the previous day since our tour was on a Friday, when the library was closed. Friday was a great day for the tour since the locals all stayed home until 1pm to observe their Sabbath.

5.00I thought I had booked a tour of Alexandria with a pickup at the port; understandable as the tour I originally booked was located by Viator under Tours from the port. After I booked was contacted by Ramasside to be advised that the tour was only available from Hotels. With help from Nada and Sarah I managed to find the correct tour. Rammaside then contacted me prior to the tour with a photo of the mosque outside the port gates where the guide, Mohammed would meet us. The WhatsApp message also included a photo of Mohammed. All very impressive. The tour impressed even more. Mohammed was an excellent guide with a brilliant manner and detailed knowledge of all the sites we visited. We enjoyed lunch at a local restaurant and coffee at Mohammed's favourite cafe. An unforgettable day.

5.00We had a super great day with Am Eriny in Alexandria. She explained all the sights very well to us. Library, amphitheatre, Coptic church, port, palace, It was just fun. The driver must also be mentioned with praise. We can only recommend this tour to introduce Alexandria. We enjoyed the day, especially with our super nice guide. Petra Kays
