Lets take a drive down to the Largest village in Africa; Molepolole. This an opportunity to experience the Botswana that (most) others don't as we drive through the rocky plains of different settlements. This village visit entails: A visit to local homesteads in a small settlement to experience some of the culture of the Bakwena tribe. Expect the unexpected as each visit is unique, however you get to be close up to a traditional mud hut and get a better understanding of a day in the life of those living in a village. Before leaving we will do a drive by for a distant view of the David Livingstone Cave, the cave that influenced the first Christian conversion.

This was a lovely tour, and I enjoyed my morning with tour guide Otto. We had some great conversations about village life, spiritual beliefs and practices, and wedding ceremonies. We took a nice walk around a village neighbourhood while the village lady was making us tea, and Otto pointed out several herbs that were historically (and some that still are) used for healing and medicine. It was a great tour for getting a peek into the day-to-day of village life.

Had a great time on this tour last year. Door-to-door service form Gaborone was so convenient. I enjoyed chatting with the guide en route. The guide catered the tour a bit to my interests- I’m a doctor and had a wonderful time talking with a local medicine man and learning about Dr. Merriweather. We even stopped at a shop on the way home to pick up a local beverage one of the local talked about! Overall wonderful experience. I did it as a lone female and felt very safe throughout the day.

The tour was great. It gave us a better understanding and appreciation of Botswana. The guide was excellent and provided us with lots of information and answers to our questions. We met some lovely, welcoming people for tea. They were very neighbourly, easy to chat with and exchange information about our respective countries. The museum we visited in Molepolole is in transition, moving soon to a new building elsewhere. Although some displays were therefore not fully available due to the upcoming move, we still got a good idea of Botswana's history and traditions. I look forward to visiting the new museum one day. I would strongly recommend the tour.
