The Margaridas Apiculture is located in the Lagoa, on an ancient pasture, which has been reconverted into a forest DE native and meliferous species. Today, the farm is inhabited by the Margarida bees who visit the diverse DE flowers and meliferous species that populate this space. Beekeeper Carolina, a passionate lover POR these amazing beings will take visitors on a trip to the Wonderful World of Bees!
The visitor will wear the skin DE a real beekeeper and be surprised by the bees in their busy daily life. We start with a briefing on the biology of the bees, the safety measures, and we continue to the discovery of the hives. At DAhow the hi is organized, what functions bees perform throughout their lives and who knows... You can even find the Queen!
At the end, the Margarida bees give us a DE taste of honey. They will taste the different types DE honey from the Azores.

5.00Today we have a pleasure to join the Bee Exploration Session with Carolina. Carolina explained everything about the bees, their life , their behavior and world of local plants the bees live in. We saw the sweet home of the bees, how they work and communicate with each other - great family!!!! I really appreciate all the knowledge we got today and the happy feeling to watch these beatiful incects in the nature. And of course, the honey tasting afterwards and the opportunity to buy such a delicious local honey. Use this experience and try it yourself. Thank you Carolina for this great time with your 🐝 🐝 🐝 🐝 🐝!

5.00Carolina is a great beekeeper! We have visited today this lovely place- bee home. It was so excited to hear about the life of a bee worker, queen, drone and bee colony. Also to get to know about the plants world of azores. Honey tasting and possibility to buy this tasty honey. Thank you so much @ Carolina for wounderful time and experience.

5.00Carolina's passion and commitment to bees and regenerative agriculture is palpable in this one-of-a-kind experience. We started with an overview of bees and I was amazed what an incredible life they live in community, supporting their queens! We had ample time for questions and I felt like I gained a tremendous amount of knowledge on bees and how they live. Afterwards we suited up and headed to the beehives where we got to see first hand what we had just learned about. I loved the care in which the bees are handled, only taking honey when there's enough for the larvae and others. Also the beehives are named after women who inspired Carolina - what a personal touch! Finally, we ended with a tasting (of course!) of the exquisite honey, and a lemonade made with the honey as well. A truly special experience I would highly recommend - plus expansive views to the ocean and a beautiful and central place!

5.00So authentic and insightful 👏 👌 totally recommend, even if you're in doubt because you're nervous around bees... Carolina is very careful, takes the measures to have a safe experience and makes elspace for you to be there at your own pace.

5.00This tour was an absolute delight of our trip. Our guide welcomed us into her world of beekeeping with such warmth, knowledge, and genuine passion. She took the time to explain the importance of bees, the care that goes into each hive, and her personal journey, making the experience feel both intimate and inspiring. It was clear how deeply she cares about her bees, and that passion was contagious. We left with a new appreciation for beekeeping and a big smile on our faces and will be checking this excursion out during the summer time. Thank you! 😊

5.00If you are looking to learn more about bees this is your place! You will learn about the various members of bee colonies, their anatomy and roles in the community, as well as their life cycle. You will get to see the hives, identifying honey deposits and larvae among other things. If you are lucky you might see the queen or even a bee doing a dancing ritual like we did! After the hive visit, you can taste the honey harvested on sour bread. Carolina is so passionate, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the topic. There wasn’t a question she couldn’t answer! Our students had a great time!

5.00I had an amazing time visiting Carolina and her bees. The experience was a nice blend of information about the bees, hives, and honey before getting up close and hands-on. There is a real warmth and passion in the work being done that was easy to feel. This was a real highlight of my time spent on Sao Miguel, and I'd highly recommend it.

5.00WOW WOW WOW! Who knew that Bees were so amazing?!!!! Carolina Ferraz is passionate about her bees and her knowledge is second to none. You'll be amazed and delighted to learn and experience the bees and their hives. This was our favorite stop during our Nov 2025 Trip to the Azores. Thanks for Carolina for such an interesting and fun experience:)
