Is the Bible not as clear as you would like it to be?
In this semi-private guided tour, you'll go through the British Museum, connecting numerous ancient artifacts to verses, helping you to discover the common thread that weaves the books and people together.
Verses are no longer just words on a page when you see an ancient artifact bring the passage to life. By placing each event on a timeline, you'll understand how they relate to one another.
You'll remember the artifacts and verses in two ways:
1. Read the Bible for yourself: Instead of hearing the guide's interpretation, you'll read the verses in your own translation in front of the artifact. You'll remember the artifact and the verse better.
2. Socratic questioning: Instead of listening to a guide's one-way talk, you'll be asked gentle questions that prompt you to the answer. Self-discovery is the best way to learn, and by saying the answer in front of the artifact, you'll remember the artifact and the answer better.

The British Museum
We start with the Assyrian, Egyptian and Greek galleries on the ground floor. We'll see 40-ton Assyrian lamassu beasts, statues of famous pharaohs and the Parthenon temple sculptures of Athens. We elbow our way to the front of the famous Rosetta stone and talk about its importance to history. After a break, we go upstairs to see the Egyptian, Mesopotamian, Babylonian, Persian, Greek and Roman galleries as time allows and your preference dictates. We'll look at Roman emperors, Persian tableware and drinkware that Esther and Nehemiah would have been familiar with, Egyptian mummies and a game that Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph would have played. We'll examine some weights that Daniel may have had in mind when he interpreted the handwriting on the wall for King Belshazzar. Some of the Biblical people we'll discuss: Egypt: Joseph, Moses, Abraham; Assyria: Jonah, Ahab, Hezekiah; Babylon: Daniel; Persia: Queen Esther, Nehemiah; Rome: Jesus; Greek: Paul
Optional portable folding stools
Google Doc of study notes including a comprehensive list of Bible verses related to the artifacts

The Bible Study Tour of the British Museum was a fascinating learning experience. Thank you for the interesting explanations of many artefacts and the various links to the specific Bible verses and contexts. Great tour by David!

Absolutely fantastic experience! David is basically a search engine on Biblical knowledge and has a remarkable ability to connect artifacts to Scripture. We could have stayed the whole day and hope to come back and take another tour with him. There are other tours available with other groups, but David will have you look up and read Scripture to connect it to the artifact and this really enhanced the learning. It was fantastic. David cares about your experience and my husband and I cannot recommend it enough! We are sharing our pictures and experience with all of our American friends and fully endorse David’s tour!

A lovely city, with lots of very diverse experiences, theater, museums, shopping etc., or just stroll around the streets and study the folk life.

This tour with David is amazing. He has encyclopedic knowledge of both historical periods and biblical verses and events. Seeing artifacts that the Apostle Paul saw or referenced in his writings allowed me a personal view of the Bible that I'd never experienced before. In addition, names listed in the Old Testament which were foreign and unknown came alive. Thank you, David, I look forward to more tours with you in the future.

Had a fantastic afternoon with David at the British Museum. The tour had a structure and told a story rather than just random artifacts and Bible verses, which made it a rich experience. I particularly appreciated that David provided an outline and scripture to read ahead of time. While you could still enjoy the tour without having studied ahead of time, I feel like I got that much more out of the experience because I did so. David is very knowledgeable while also warm, friendly and accommodating. I will definitely do one of his other tours the next time I’m in London

David, the tour guide, was knowledgeable, patient, interactive & funny. He can make the Bible come alive. I'll recommend my priests to join this tour as to make their sermons more interesting. I can't recommend/praise this tour high enough. Apparently people from all over the world, different Christian denominations joined David's tour. So it's a must-join. Worth every penny.

David not only knew the museum and the exhibits very well, but also the Bible. Being in the museum and finding names from the Bible in the exhibits was an impressive experience. David made the connection between the exhibits and the Bible again and again personal by having me search for and present the biblical passages. It made the Bible come alive for me. I can recommend this tour to everyone. It would not have been possible without David.
