  We had an absolutely fantastic experience on our day tour of Dakar and the boat trip to Gorée Island with our amazing guide Pape and our excellent driver Dam. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized and smooth. Pape was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and professional. He showed us all the main sights of Dakar, sharing fascinating insights into the city’s history and culture. The visit to Gorée Island was especially moving — Pape explained the history of the slave trade with such depth and sensitivity, helping us understand this important chapter in Senegal’s past. Our driver Dam was also great — always friendly, punctual, and made us feel safe throughout the day. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. This tour is a must for anyone visiting Dakar, and we highly recommend Pape and Dam to anyone looking for a memorable and meaningful journey!

  Papè was absolutely amazing! Several people during the tour told me he was the best tour guide in Dakar and they were NOT lying. He was so knowledgeable, friendly, welcoming, and a beautiful person! Left feeling so blessed to have had such a beautiful experience.

  We had an amazing time on this private tour around Dakar and Gorée Island. Our guide, Pape, was absolutely exceptional—one of the best we’ve had in all of Africa. He was incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, and what really stood out was how engaging he made the whole experience. Even during the longer drives, he kept things interesting with fascinating facts about the surroundings. It never felt dull, and that’s exactly how a great tour should be. Pape also had a great eye for photography—he knew the best spots for pictures and took some fantastic shots for us. The entire tour was very well organized, from the smooth driving to the delicious food. It was absolutely worth the price for a private tour. What impressed us even more were all the small details that showed how much he cares about his guests. He arrived 30 minutes early to pick us up, helped us exchange money, and even made a stop at the supermarket when we needed something. He was always professional and prepared, going out of his way to make sure everything went smoothly. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Dakar. If you can, request Pape as your guide—you won’t regret it!

  Pape is an excellent tourist guide, from start to finish. He communicated effectively before and during the tour and speaks fluent English. Pape is very passionate and knowledgeable about the history of Senegal and Goree Island. The day was exciting, varied, fascinating and humbling. If you enjoy getting a good flavour for Dakar and Goree, as well as learning plenty about the country, then this tour is definitely for you.
