Leave the busy city behind and reconnect with tradition! Along the way, enjoy the peaceful scenery of the Red River Delta: green banana groves, colorful fruit orchards, and vibrant vegetable fields. This charming drive sets the stage for your cultural adventure. Your first stop is Dong Ho Village, home of Vietnam’s most famous folk paintings. Visit the village museum, step into the house of a master artisan, and watch how they create prints using carved woodblocks and natural pigments. Hear the folktales and meanings behind each artwork, then try making your own Dong Ho painting – a unique keepsake to take home. Next, stroll through quiet village lanes to meet families who have been making colorful votive paper for generations. See how simple sheets are transformed into ornate offerings like dragons, palaces, and boats – a vibrant tradition at the heart of Vietnamese spiritual life.
Your journey continues to the Mausoleum of Kinh Duong Vuong, the legendary founding ancestor of the Vietnamese people. Explore this sacred site where history and mythology come together, and gain a deeper sense of Vietnam’s roots. This experience blends authentic culture, hands-on creativity, and stunning countryside views – perfect for travelers who want to discover the “real” Vietnam beyond the city.
