You will get the chance to enter a section of the underground bunkers which were secretly build in the mountain in the 1940s. Inspect markings left by allied soldiers as the liberated Europe in 1945, document rooms burned at the end of the war and many other fascinating places that tell the history of those dark chapter of human history.
A must for history buffs while visiting the Bavarian Alps. Upon arriving to the Obersalzberg you will get an introduction to the area. Why was this idyllical location chosen to be heart of the Third Reich. With the mountains on our back our adventure begins as you rediscover the history of the first allied soldiers to get there and make it to the history books including the famous 101st airborne. You will follow their steps into the Obersalzberg, the former Nazi fortification where many plans changed the destiny of millions. Rediscover the ruins of all high-ranking officers that lived there and gain insight about the life and happenings in the area. Some hidden locations in the forest tell the history of WWII in a very especial way. You will conclude with a visit to the underground bunkers. The tour is around 2 hours outside and 1 in the bunker. Remember to wear you can easily take some off later.

5.00Claudio gave us a very personal , enthusiastic and detailed insight into the history of the OberSalzburg and the importance of the location to Hitler and the Nazi party . We reflected on this unique experience of standing where he and his henchmen used to stand more than 90 years ago and looked at the same view in today’s ruins of the Berghof .

5.00Claudio is a knowledgeable guide and was able to field our questions in stride. The audio tour inside the Document Center feels incomplete without his insight. Tours are much more interesting when they are interactive. I recommend booking a tour with Claudio.

His English was impeccable & he was able to fully answer all of our questions. If you are lucky enough to get him as your guide consider yourself lucky!
