An authentic and interactive Garifuna drumming lesson for all ages. Join a whirlwind introduction to the fascinating and unique culture and music of the Garifuna people of southern Belize. Fun for all ages, abilities, backgrounds, even if you've never touched a drum in your life. Everyone loves learning to play the Garifuna drums. Your instructor will give you a brief history of the unique UNESCO recognized Garifuna people, music and culture. He will then launch straight into your drumming lesson, teaching you a selection of beats on your own large "segunda" bass drum before joining in on his own drum with dynamic and fast rhythms and songs.

So much fun, so much cultural experience, so much rythm, the songs in the very special language garinagu. Absolutely recommended to do while you're in Punta Gorda, Belize

It is one of several immersive and rewarding things to do in Punta Gorda, whether you are a Belizean or a visitor. It would make an excellent team-building exercise for a business or group of teachers who are on retreat in the area. Discover your inner talent--or lack of. Either way, it's fabulous and inexpensive. The instructor Ronald McDonald (his real name) is patient, good-humored and an excellent teacher.
