It's not all bowler hats and briefcases in London's financial district. The Square Mile is the oldest neighbourhood in London, and on this tour we'll discover how fashion has shaped its history.

Led by a former fashion journalist, this walking tour traces the story of fashion in the City of London, from the must-have Roman hoodie to the king who invented modern menswear.

We'll stroll through the City's most prestigious shopping areas, wander down its historic alleyways, and strike a pose at an iconic shoot location as we uncover its secret roots in the rag trade.

The tour ends at The Royal Exchange, London's oldest shopping mall – perfect if you're in the mood for some retail therapy afterwards.

This ended up being my favorite tour that we took while visiting London. I enjoyed learning how much fashion influenced not only the people of London but also the city itself. I would highly recommend taking this tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable and I learned so much about London through the lens of fashion.

I joined the fashion walking tour with friends. We had a wonderful morning learning about the many connections between the City of London and the fashion industry, going back millennia. Susannah was a brilliant and incredibly well informed guide, she encouraged to discuss and learn from each other and kept us thoroughly entertained and informed the whole way. I would not hesitate to recommend this or any of her tours.

Amazing time in the City which, although I thought I knew well, Suzy managed to tell and show me things which were previously unknown to me. She did so with élan and humour and it was sheer pleasure to be in her company for the morning. I cannot recommend her highly enough, and look forward to doing another tour with her in the upcoming months.

The tour was a excellent help, in understanding London better as a fashion place in the past history & I left better understanding the city of London overall. Would recommend anyone who wants to learn about London's significance in history to do the tour.

This was a fascinating tour with a completely new to me focus on how the City worked as a shopping and manufacturing centre for clothes from Roman times. Susannah was an engaging and informative guide.

Susannah was an excellent guide. Fascinating tour. Easy pace. Definitely worth the price. Will look for more Secret Square Mile Tours Have lived in London for 50 years and all of the tour was news to me! 5 star.
