A fun family day in Fiji! South Sea Island is perfect for families with small children! If you would like a short trip out to South Sea Island to suit the kids, then this is the cruise for you.

In just 30 minutes you'll be at South Sea Island where you can spend two hours and be back at Port Denarau in time for lunch. In the two hours, you can see the stunning underwater world of the Marine Sanctuary that surrounds the island with its colourful coral and magnificent fish life. You don't even have to get wet as we'll take you to view all this in our semi-submersible vessel. You sit beneath the surface viewing the coral and fish through large panoramic windows. The kids might even find Nemo!!

After this fascinating trip you can spend some time ashore relaxing, kayaking, swimming or snorkeling.

The tour includes vessel transfer and hotel pick up and drop off from most of the Nadi/Denarau hotels.

Finding Nemo Half Day 8:45am

Coach pickup time : Check the coach timetable on our website; pickup is earlier than boat departure to allow for coach transfer to the Marina.
Duration: 3 hours: The Cruise departs Port Denarau at 8:45am and arrives Port Denarau at 11:45am
Pick Up Area: Customers are advised to be waiting 15 minutes prior to times shown as drivers are unable to wait and may arrive earlier.

South sea cruise pick up can be arranged from Denarau hotels included in booking fees. Prompt pick up, clean bus. Inside the port, it’s easy to find the location to collect physical tickets using your booking QR code. The trip over on the ferry is quick, then you’re assisted into a smaller boat to get to the island. Free soft drinks included, as outlined in booking, no lunch for the half day. Sand is very course coral/shells so bring some crocs. The little glass bottom boat ride is short, but long enough for young families and it’s quite hot inside. Time for a quick swim after and then back on the boat to head home. This trip is excellent for young families. I’d probably say children under 10. We had a 4 and 6 year old and it was great. Any longer and the kids would probably get a bit restless so a half day made it enjoyable for all.

A great day out with our young children. We loved the coral viewing boat and a short snorkel trip. The boat ride was fun and it was a good length trip for us. Only negative was that the resort transfer after the trip took nearly an hour as the bus waited for another boat of passengers to arrive. If I'd known this we would definitely have just taken a taxi home as the little one was very ready for a nap.

Was a great family friendly experience until the bus ride back to our resort. We went with 6 adults and 5 kids ranging from ages 1-5, they loved the boat ride and swimming on the island. And they were thrilled to on the glass bottom boat ride, the water was beautifully clear and so much active marine life and colourful coral. We even got to see a turtle up close.! Upon return however, we were made to wait half an hour on a bus waiting for another boat to return to the marina. How is this suitable for young children to make us sit on a bus for over half an hour, there was clearly enough time to take everyone back to the resorts 5 minutes away! It literally would have been quicker to walk back to our resort. No apologies or updates, just "we are waiting for another boat". The kids were getting antsy, they were tired and hungry and it ruined a perfect outing. I also overheard the people coming off the boat we were waiting for complain they had no assistance in unloading their baggage which is what took even longer. So disappointing as the reviews were quite positive for this experience

Disappointed to say the least States online 3.15 hours We got on boat at 8.45 Arrived on island at 9.15 Orientation till 9.30 We were told to be ready to board the boat at 11am so only gave us 1.5 hours We went and got snorkeling gear but the snorkelling tour was at 10.30 and was only for 15 minutes, they ran late and we snorkelled from 10.40 and then had to rush to get our stuff to go back onto boat Water was too shallow to go snorkeling off shore and when we did snorkel there was a lot of sea lice and we saw about 5 fish that’s it very cloudy waters All staff were a little rude as they were so rushed as well and not the Fuji experience we had on previous trips Not worth the money or effort to go

A great activity to do with the family. Our daughter was very nervous about going on the boat and the staff were reassuring and helped her at every point.

We were picked up from the hotel promptly, the bus was comfortable enough. However there was no instruction on where to go once we got to the port, it was a follow the leader situation, which is not great with trying to get small children organised. Check in was chaotic but okay. Wouldn’t be a good trip for anyone with low mobility as there was a lot of boat transferring occurring. When the smaller boat pulled up at the island we needed to step in the water to get off the boat, so don’t wear shoes you aren’t happy to get wet. The island crew sang a welcome song as we arrived which was lovely. The sand has coral all over it so wear beach shoes!!! The submersible was amazing, really really cool. We saw lots of fish and even a shark. Overall it was a lovely island, the water was beautiful although there were stingers in there. Our experience would have been better with the appropriate footwear!
