We aim for our tour to have all of the above in addition to ensuring that the walking tour is comfortable and enjoyable. Why a guided tour with Istoria? Why not? Why spend excessive time and energy navigating?
Guests will embarked on a curated tour of shared tasting of more than 7 types of food and drinks. Every stop is mindfully chosen, not just for taste, but for the stories behind the dishes. Guests don’t just eat; they encounter living memories of resilience, filial piety, and everyday determination.
It will also be complemented with the exploration of Chinatown itself, be it temples, shophouses and murals enhances the visuals, sounds, and textures of Chinatown, plus its relationship to food. Afterall, it is a food tour.

Health, Medical Conditions and Personal Accident Insurance: By booking and participating in a tour activity, you acknowledge the inherent risks involved—including weather exposure, food-related illness, accidental injury, and other hazards. You confirm that you are in good health and not affected by any condition that would increase your risk during the activity. Participants are strongly encouraged to obtain their own personal accident and liability insurance.
Third-Party Products and Services – Limitation of Liability operates solely as an intermediary, coordinating tours, transportation, venue visits, and related services. We are not responsible for any accidents, delays, injuries, losses, or damages arising from the actions or negligence of third-party providers—including transport companies, service operators, restaurants, shops, or their staff. Participants acknowledge that any use or consumption of third-party products or services during the tour—such as food, merchandise, or additional activities—is done at their own risk and expense. The company bears no liability for any resulting harm, including injury, illness, or loss.

Our food tour features a fixed tasting menu curated in advance, so we’re unable to make changes to the dishes. Please note that the menu is non‑halal and some items may contain pork.

4.00This was a very enjoyable and thoughtfully organised food tour, and a fantastic way to experience Chinatown beyond the usual tourist trail. What I appreciated most was that the stops reflected where locals actually eat, which gave the entire experience a much more authentic and insider feel. We visited excellent hawker stalls and hidden gems that even I - a local - had not come across before! The logistics of the tour were also impressively handled. Chinatown’s hawker centres can get extremely busy, but everything flowed smoothly, and it was clear a lot of care had gone into planning ahead to avoid crowds and waiting around. A particularly nice touch was having a fellow guide move ahead of our group to secure seating, which made the experience feel relaxed and seamless even during peak periods. For foreign visitors, it's a stress-free way to soak in the bustling energy of lunchtime in the CBD's beloved hawker centres. Serene, our guide, was friendly, engaging, and clearly passionate about showcasing Singapore’s food culture. I think the tour could become truly exceptional with a little more depth around the food itself - for example, more discussion about ingredients, culinary traditions, regional influences, or how certain dishes and food traditions connect to Singapore’s broader cultural and historical story. That extra layer of food and dietary knowledge would really elevate the experience and add more of a “wow” factor for guests who are especially interested in getting to know Singapore's food culture. Overall though, this was a memorable and very worthwhile experience, especially for visitors wanting an authentic taste of Chinatown and some genuinely great local food. Recommended.

5.00The entire experience was fabulous! Our Istoria Collective tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and the food we ate were all equally amazing! From the famous local favourites like roast pork and laksa to curry puffs and chicken rice etc, my favourite was definitely the laksa & curry puffs. Walking through Chinatown was also more relaxed than I had expected. Filling myself up with the sights and sounds really paired well with the food and drinks. Overall, Everything unfolded at a comfortable pace and wasn’t rushed, so we really enjoyed ourselves very much! Thank you Istoria Collective!

5.00Interesting tour. She was able to give knowledges about the food we tasted today. I love the Char Siew with pork as it gives generous meat quality and the rice is just perfect. Of course I do wish there is more food being served as foodies will loves to try out the Singapore's gem

4.00We had a 2.5h condensed version of the tour (usually 3.5h) and it was enjoyable with interesting anecdotes along the way by Ronald Low and his super helpful fellow guide, Serene Tan. They took care to ensure there was plenty of shade, good pace, places to cool off, adequate rest in between walking, taking in the sights and spacing out the eating pit stops. This is a family-friendly tour and young and old would be able to participate comfortably as along as one is mobile. Thank God earlier this morning (10am-12.30pm) was nice and cool. It was refreshing to see places I never noticed even though I might have passed them before. And to engage and delve into the culture and background history made me appreciate so much more the hawkers whom we met along the way. Kudos to Istoria for the tour and the other tours conducted by you guys are definitely something we would want to explore as well and to recommend to others! Appreciate your personable service!

5.00Another excellent repeat tour with Istoria led by Ronald and Serene, exploring Chinatown's heritage and cultural places with a focus on delicious local food. It was nice speaking to the stall holders who were so generous and passionate about sharing their food creations. A morning well spent, well fed and well paved enjoying the food and learning about the heritage and culture.

The guide not only brought us to many yummy food spots in Chinatown but also share interesting insights to the history of the foods, the places and the people that makes Singapore unique. The guide is very knowledgeable about the local culture, social fabric of the society, and the fascinating religious mixed of it's culture.

5.00It has been a wonderful experience to have a food guided tour in Chinatown. We were spoilt with one of the best Laksa and curry puffs in Singapore. The BBQ pork won ton noodle was tasty too. We were also given a tour into the Hindu temple and Buddhist temple. Being a Christian makes me happy to visit these sites which I would never gone in by myself. Thank you so much for the patience and service rendered to us. A very friendly and family oriented tour. Highly recommended ❣️
