When dining out the first thing to remember is that Italy didn’t even become a country until the unification of its 20 regions in 1861. For this reason, Italians, and especially Florentine’s are still, even today, very much connected to and proud of their regional culture and of course cuisine.

Our authentic Florentine dining experience will take you back in time to the origins of some of Florence’s most renowned dishes. To the tables of the nobleman and peasants alike. To the courts and banquets hosted by the Medici.

Your hosts, Monica and Simone, will guide you on a culinary journey explaining each dish including both its historical origin but sometimes more importantly its cultural significance.

Your four course meal will be accompanied by a selection of traditional, locally produced wines and exceptional extra virgin olive oil.

Our Florentine Food Experience is a deep dive into local history and culture through our traditions at the table.

Our team consists of a restauranteur and a travel specialist, in collaboration with local wine, olive oil and food producers. Together we are bringing our passion for Florence and Tuscany to the table. We are reviving Florentine culinary traditions and most importantly we are supporting our local producers whose ingredients become the real protagonists on the table. Embracing the concept of farm to table and sourcing local products not only gives you an authetic experience and the opportunity to taste unique, non-commerical products, but it helps support our local economy, and reduces our impact on the environment. Tuscans produce food with passion, respect and gratitude for the land and what it provides. Let us introduce you to our wonderful wines and traditional Tuscan products.

This was a highlight of my trip. The history given on the food, wine etc was outstanding but just as wonderful was the food and small group of like minded people to share the experience.

We loved learning about the history of Italian food. Our multi-course meal was delicious and the atmosphere of the restaurant is quant and charming. The chefs and our guide went out of their way to make us feel welcome and the experience was superb! Highly recommend this unique experience.

We didn’t expect this to be such a wonderful history lesson about Florence and Florentine food! Anna is an amazing historian and we enjoyed this evening very much! Florentine steak is cooked rare. My husband loved it. Great appetizers and wine if you don’t like rare steak! My dad is a vegetarian and chef Monica arranged for a delicious alternative. Would highly recommend this experience! Much more than we expected!

Very welcoming host, very local fresh food, top quality, you'll learn a lot. Even extra virgin olive oil is not the same. You'll taste it and tell it's different from the oil sold in market. Memorable experience. Good wines too, but frankly I'm not a heavy drinker so can't tell much. The steak was the best I've ever tasted. They said it must be treated for over 20 days before served. Amazing!
This was a lovely evening ! Highly recommend to all!

As someone who has spent weeks at a time in Florence over the last 7 years , this was one of the most delightful experiences I’ve had . The setting was a cozy , old-fashioned restaurant with a warm ambiance. The food and wine were delicious and plentiful , and the other participants (about 8 in all ) were fun and friendly . There was a lot of laughter among us . What made the evening perfect tho , was Anna , pie hostess . She expertly explained the culinary history of what we ate and drank , and did it with warmth and humor !!! It is Anna who made the evening special! I recommend this event to everyone! Thank you Monica (the chef ) and Anna !!!!!

One of the great things about Italian dining is that it _is_ going out. That's your night's entertainment. Nothing more entertaining than doing it this way, though. It's like a guided tour through the cuisine, the wines, the history -- and the way they all wrap together. Anna is a fabulous and fabulously knowledgeable host, fielding questions of all kinds. Monica and Simone are great in their supporting roles (ie, making and serving up course after course!). Cannot recommend this highly enough, as a solo traveller or as a group outing--our table had both and everyone had a great time together, lubricated perhaps by all the wine and vin santo....
