Experience some of the best the North has to offer during winter time on our Forest Lagoon & Northern Lights tour.
The evening starts with a short drive to the Forest Lagoon geothermal baths where you'll get the opportunity to relax in the warm water. With views overlooking one of Iceland's longest fjords, Eyjafjörður, the spa's unique location surrounded by birch and pine trees truly sets it apart. During the visit to the Forest Lagoon guests will experience the view, the tranquility and the energy of Vaðlaskógur, the forest that surrounds the baths.
For the second half of the tour our experienced guides will take you outside Akureyri to see nature's most fascinating displays of artistry, the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights as we like to call them. The Northern Lights viewing for this winter is looking to be very active and there are few better places to see them than in the North around Akureyri.

The Northern Lights tour is subjected to the weather and sky conditions and we reserve the right to cancel at any time. If the evening tour goes ahead and the Northern Lights are not seen, we will offer the trip again for free next time we have a booking.

5.00What a mindblowing experience! Firstly we went to the Forest lagoon and spent such a wonderful time there, relaxing in hot water with pina colada with a forest view. It was snowing while we were there which made the experience even more magical and movie-like. And then the best part of the tour came. We’ve almost lost the hope of seeing Northern lights that night as it was cloudy and other tours were cancelled but our guide was so confident and just knew WHERE to go! After driving for about an hour we saw Aurora!!! We couldn’t believe our eyes. It was so bright and massive, spreading across the whole sky! We were watching this “show” for an hour: it was dancing in the sky and constantly moving and changing its shape. And the observation spot was between snowy mountains, like in a fairy tale. We were literally screaming and jumping out of happiness because it was so stunning and because our dream came true. And this is thanks to our highly experienced and enthusiastic guide. We are so grateful to him!! He’s a magician who found bright Northern lights in a cloudy day! 15.02.2026

5.00We loved this trip. The forest lagoon was amazing. The Northern lights trip was excellent. Our guide Sigi was great at finding the right spot and he kindly even helped us out by taking some photos as our cameras on our phones weren't good enough to get a good photo. Highly recommend.

5.00Sigi was an amazing guide & would recommend to everyone. There were only 2 of us so we ended up with a private tour & very happy it wasn't cancelled. Sigi took a scenic route to get the most out of the tour. We were lucky w the lights & he made multiple stops for us to get out & enjoy them. He also took some amazing photos which he shared with us after. Can't recommend this tour enough

5.00Loved, loved, loved this tour!! Our guide was AMAZING!! The Forest Lagoon was lovely but chasing the Northern Lights was the highlight. Our guide was so determined and we saw them!!! Incredible night to remember!

5.00Forest Lagoon was nice. Went in the evening after it got dark and the view across the fjord was very pretty. We had enough time to really relax and enjoy it. Afterwards we went on the hunt for the northern lights and Siggi, our guide, tried a few spots and soon found a perfect place for us to see them. All of a sudden a spectacular show was there for us to enjoy. Thanks Siggi, you gave us a memorable night.
