Siegesdenkmal
The Siegesdenkmal is a war memorial located in Schlossbergplatz, near the entrance to the Schlossberg hill. It was built in 1876 to commemorate the victory of the German Empire in the Franco-Prussian War (1870-1871). The monument features a tall column topped with a statue of Germania, the allegorical representation of the German nation. The Siegesdenkmal offers a panoramic view of Freiburg and is a popular spot for visitors to enjoy the scenery and learn about the city's history.

Rudolph was an excellent guide with plenty of interesting information. He was very friendly and pointed out things that we would have not otherwise discovered.
