5.00Wonderful day trip from Auckland. The caves were so beautiful and unlike anything I’ve experienced before. The surrounding area was also lovely, lush and green. The guides were knowledgeable, personable, and experts at cave photography. Our driver was friendly and shared some interesting info on the drives to and from. Unexpectedly, I got to feed an eel too! Only warning, the itinerary gets you back to Auckland in rush hour. We spent hours in traffic despite our driver’s best efforts (although apparently it was worse than normal). Still a five star day, but don’t rely on the 8-9 hour estimate if making dinner reservations for when you’re back. Ours was an 11 hour day. But an incredible 11 hour day!

5.00Very cool experience! Aaron was our driver from Auckland and had lots of fun facts for the drive, was super nice, and had great music on. He also had snacks for the car ride and water which was lovely. Pablo was our guide at the glow worm caves and rocked too! The worms are AWESOME to see. The first cave is all about the glowworms and the second has the stalactites/stalagmites, both are very interesting. Pablo will also take the best picture of you inside the glowworm cave. You get a nice tea/coffee break in between the two caves. Be sure to bring a jacket, especially for the second cave because it gets pretty chilly in there. Great experience to do!

5.00Had a great day. I received clear communication from the company about what time I would be picked up, and Jason arrived exactly on time. It’s about 2:45 to the caves, and we stopped for a snack and bathroom break on the way. Toured the caves, which were fantastic, stopped for lunch in Otorohanga, and headed back to Auckland. It’s a long drive, but the tour was put together efficiently—the glowworms are stunning, and it was worth the drive.

5.00Aaron was a fantastic tour guide! The drive over to the caves was nice with a small break for coffee half way through. The tour guide at the caves was very knowledgeable and answered all questions that the group had. Overall a fantastic experience !

5.00Our driver Dean was a delight and very knowledgeable about the history of New Zealand. He was on time and got us to the caves quickly. The caves and tour were also amazing. I HIGHLY recommend booking this if you ever visit Auckland.

Jamie was an outstanding guide — knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to accommodate any requests throughout the trip. 5.00The scenery inside the caves is gorgeous. The trip can visit 2 caves and we can take a coffee break after visiting the first caves. The tour guide is very helpful and informative. All in all, the trip is highly recommended.

5.00Fatema was responsive and answered questions ahead of our tour. Jason, our driver was prompt and friendly. The cave tour itself is very unique. The glow worms along the ceiling look like the Milky Way. Pablo, our cave guide, gave us lots of information and time in the caves. The spirit cave tour was informative but less unique if you have been in caves before. The tour stops on the way out for breakfast at a cafe and in town on the way back for lunch (neither are included in the cost but lunch recommendations are provided) Overall I think this is a great option to see the glowworm caves if you have a day in Auckland.
