  I will highly recommend this trip. It was an early start from Budapest. After pick ups, for me it was 3 groups including me, total 8 of us. The van was clean. First stop was the Belvedere museum in Vienna which has a lovely garden. Then, Vienna old town. After a few hours, we weee taken to the Bratislava Castle, then the old town. Before returning back to Budapest. And want to say thank you to friendly and approachable Ahmed for looking after us. Great explanation on history of each site. Thank you for the local snacks and drinks. Thank you for turning up on time.

  Gave me a pickup time an hour earlier than advertised a mere 9 hours before the tour so I lost the option to cancel, then ignored myself and Viator upon asking for a refund because it was not as advertised. Was finally contacted at almost 11pm and they offered to change it by 10 minutes. Again, I declined and after several messages they said they’d pick me up at the advertised time and did not respond to further messages. In the morning I asked for an update and was ignored until the pick up time, when I was forced to show up since they wouldn’t agree to a refund even after an awful exchange. Finally the guide replied and said he was outside, which was a lie. I had been outside since 5 minutes prior to the time as requested and no one had been there. They basically thought they could avoid the refund if I didn’t show and opted not to pick me up as they demanded to. I immediately replied to the guide that I was there and asked where he was several times. He saw my first message and stopped opening them - I can only guess to try and claim that I no-showed. I had been on chat with Viator again the entire time and the host ignored multiple calls from them. Absolutely do not recommend this tour - awful scam artists.

  This day trip showed us a brief preview of Slovakia (Bratislava) and Austria (Vienna). The only thing is the road trip is about 2.5 hours from Budapest but it was definitely worth the drive. Our driver Filip was friendly and he showed us the eastern European hospitality. Our family really enjoyed the trip. Highly recommend!

  This trip was well worth every penny! Martin our tour guide was on time to pick us up at the hotel (huge PLUS when picked up at hotel). Martin was very informative, friendly and patient. Would recommend this tour 💯 %❣️

  Beware if any guests on your tour require pick ups outside the city center this will add extra drive time to get to your destination and back! There were 5 guests on my tour that required pick up outside the city center. It took extra time to complete the pick ups in the morning, and extra time to get back to our hotels. I was the first to be picked up at 7:20 AM and we didn’t complete the pick ups and get back on the main road till about 9:30 AM, 1.5 hrs after we were supposed to be on the main road and on our way to Vienna. And it took an extra hour to get back to Budapest from Bratislava, because our tour guide had to take roads off the main highway which took much longer. We left Bratislava at 9 PM and I didn’t get back to my hotel till about 12:15 AM. When I asked my tour guide why the other 5 guests couldn’t just meet us at a point in the city center, he said they didn’t want to “fight the morning traffic” and insisted they be picked up at a home outside the city center. So basically the other guests decided it was better to waste our time instead of theirs. I understand our tour guide was trying to be accommodating to everyone, but this accommodation was made at the expense of myself and the other paying customers on the tour. When we finally got to our first stop at Belvedere Gardens it was very uneventful. The tour itinerary says you’re supposed to get a “45 minute Guided tour in the Belvedere Gardens to give you information about the wonderful history of Austria and the region.” The tour was not 45 minutes it was more like 15 minutes. Our tour guide took us to center of the garden and pointed to the lower palace and then upper palace and just spewed off a few memorized facts about the gardens/palaces and that was it. He then gave us 25 minutes of free time to “walk around” which the gardens aren’t really that big so there really isn’t much to see. If you’re not touring the museum inside the palaces, it’s kind of pointless to go. I think a more meaningful use of time would’ve been to skip it, and have extra time in the city center. With that extra free time you could fit in something more eventful like an extra museum or a tour of the opera house. At the second stop in Bratislava, the tour itinerary says you’re supposed to get a “40-minute guided tour at Bratislava Castle.” Again here you don’t actually go inside the castle, we just walked on the grounds around it. Then the tour guide spewed off a few memorized facts once again and that was it. The whole educational experience was like 20 minutes. There are nice views of Bratislava from the Castle so you get that, but not much else. A better use of time would’ve been to skip it, or perhaps or have the option to skip it to get extra free time in the main square. You only get 2 hours of free time in Bratislava so by the time you sit down to eat dinner you maybe have an hour or so left to walk around which isn’t a lot of time. It’s a very charming main square and personally I would’ve enjoyed walking, shopping, and learning about the history that was there in the main square more. A few other things to note. The transportation was a small 9 seater van. So if you have 9 people on your tour you’re going to be crammed in there. My tour was full with 9 people, and I was traveling solo. It was very uncomfortable to have to sit right up against a stranger for hours traveling there and back. And I do mean, right up against. Arm to arm, leg to leg, we were literally crammed in there. The tour operator was clearly more concerned with selling as many tickets as possible, as opposed to tending to the comfort of their paying guests. Lastly, although our tour guide was very friendly and helpful to all guests, he was not a native Austrian/Hungarian/Slovakian. And this I believe took away from the experience. I would’ve preferred someone who is a native to the region whose family has lived on the land for many generations and could’ve provided a more in depth educational experience of the cities we visited.

  Filip, our tour guide, went above and beyond to make this tour an excellent experience. We got to visit both Vienna and Bratislava and spent some time exploring the cities.
