Discover the most magnificent middle age town in Germany on a private Tour. You will see all Rothenburg sights, and learn a lot about the area in an easy and entertaining manner. But you will also recieve tons of information about Germany in general, it´s history and culture and get valuable advice for the continuation of your trip.
On your 4 hour tour by feet through old Rothenburg we will stop at all of the famous tourist sights like the St. Jakobus-Church or the Plönlein. But you will also see rather hidden gems like the middle age criminal museum (witch burning section is quite shocking!).
After around 90 minutes we will interrupt the tour for an excellent typical German lunch (not included, vergetarian dishes available).
Your guide is fluently bilingual in German and English and upon request can do the tour in what we call "easy English" (designated for guests with English as a foreign language).

Dicover the most magnificent middle age town in Germany. On your private full day tour you will see all of Rothenburg´s sights and learn a lot about German history and culture. Besides the sights individually mentioned you will see the middle age criminal musem, the old citty walls with it´s 2 famous towers, the historic Tauber valley double bridge and -upon request- either the Christmas museum or the signs of jewish life in middle age.
Das Plonlein
"Das Plönlein" is a small squre with a fountain and one of the most picturesque places in Germany. The "sloping" half wooden house on one of it´s sites looks like beeing buit for a "Grimm" fairylale

5.00Was a super fun day! Rothenburg is a very beautiful town with lots of history. Tour guide was knowledgeable and shared lots of information.. I appreciated the free time to do some shopping.

5.00Maik was very flexible with our flight delays. He communicated in advance of our travel and helped plan a perfect day trip for our family (including a grandma and 2 teens.) He located a sword shop for our avid sword collecting teen, found the most delicious local restaurants for us, gave interesting stories and histories of sites, answered questions, and was a very safe driver even in foggy conditions on the autobahn. He extended our time and was a gracious host & guide.

5.00This is the 3rd time I have tried to write this review since there is a glitch. So now this is going to be short & sweet. We loved the town of Rothenberg, so much so we wish we had more time there. Mike the driver picked us up on time at our hotel. He is a wealth of knowledge of fun facts and historical significance. His regular car broke down and he had to rent a car before our trip. The only negative is that rental had such loud road noise it was hard to hear Mike talk. He talked the whole drive of facts, however I caught my husband leaning in from the back seat to hear him also. Of coarse you can't do that the whole time so we are sure we missed some nuggets of information. The town is so quaint, and filled with history. We wish we had more time to go to their Christmas Market, and local shops or walk around the wall-but we just ran out of time. Since we were there during Christmas Season we enjoyed all the decor and the handmade ornaments from the local town's children. The church's and dungeons were filled with history! Mike took us to a local German restaurant and made a conscious effort of one of our food intolerance to pick the right place. The food and service was excellent. Mike even took us to a great sunset spot for a nice picture and the bell tower to see the whole village. This was a great excursion and should be on your list!! You won't be disappointed.

5.00Highly recommend this tour with Maik! He is a wealth of knowledge and we sincerely enjoyed our time with him. He was on time, was super friendly, taught us so much about German history, and was protective over us while we interacted with the public. He kept us on time so that we hit all of the key sites on the tour and was a pleasure to spend the day with. Looking forward to another tour with Maik in the future!

It felt like he was a friend taking us along on a trip but yet was highly knowledgeable and professional. My highest recommendation

5.00From Frankfurt this was a long drive but well worth the time. Visiting Rothenburg was like going back in time. A beautiful walled city that remains in tact through wars. Don’t miss the Christmas shop. You can spend hours there and still not see everything. The museums add to the historical experience of the tour and Michael will challenge you with the walking tour so wear comfortable shoes!

5.00We had a wonderful time visiting the beautiful city of Rothenburg on der Tauber today, with Maik being our private guide. Maik was very engaging with his vast knowledge of history, and an easy conversationalist. Given the limited time available to sight see at the city, Maik did his checks onsite regarding closing times of the attractions (closing time for one or two was not updated on their websites), and rejigged the sequence of the stops to let us optimize our experience. Although it was slightly rushed, Maik made sure that that we covered all the ‘must-see’ and ‘must-dos’. Highly recommended to do this tour with him!
