Immerse yourself in the world of Jamie and Claire from Outlander on this small-group tour with a local guide who brings to life the dramatic history and stories that inspired Diana Gabaldon. Departing from Glasgow, this adventure takes you to several Outlander filming locations, including Midhope Castle, the real-life Lallybroch; Doune Castle, the seat of Clan MacKenzie; and the stunning Blackness Castle, which is known as Fort William. With interesting stories and history about each site, this tour is great for anyone wanting a full Outlander experience in one day.

Suitable for all physical fitness levels
Children under 5 years old, including infants who do not require a seat, are not permitted to travel. We are unable to accommodate any child under the age of 5.
It is recommended to book transport to the departure point in advance. Please also allow extra time to get to the departure point for check-in. We advise you arrive at least 15 minutes before the tour departure to allow time to check-in for the tour. Unfortunately, we are unable to hold the bus or refund for any late arrivals.
There are days when a castle may be closed for filming or other reasons. The tour will then include Linlithgow Palace in its place as an exterior visit.
Return times are approximate and subject to road conditions and weather. Please ensure you allocate sufficient time for any onward travel plans, allowing at least 3 hours after the scheduled return time for connections or activities.
If downloading an audio guide, remember to bring your headset.

5.00For any fans of Outlander, this is a good day trip close to both Glasgow & Edinburgh that gives access to many filming locations. My tour guide, Liz, was very knowledgeable, super bubbly & friendly, and an overall pleasure as a host. The tour was a bit unlucky with the weather, so we unfortunately had to skip Blackness Castle, but that’s the risk with Scottish January weather!

5.00We had an amazing day doing the outlander day tour. Our guide, Scott, was very knowledgeable and made sure that we were entertained throughout the day with lots of stories from Scotland’s past. He was also very nice and accommodating and made sure that in every stop, we knew what to look out for, where the bathrooms were, and where we could grab a cuppa. Honestly, not only would I do another tour with this company again, but I would also ask for their staff by name. A good tour guide makes the whole trip! Thank you again and special thank you to Scott.

5.00We had an amazing tour today with Scott Young! Even with the rainy weather, he made the entire experience fun, lively, and memorable. He’s hilarious, incredibly knowledgeable, and brought the history and patriotism of Scotland to life in such an engaging way. We learned so many great facts and genuinely enjoyed every stop. Scott is not only a fantastic guide but also a truly kind person. Highly recommend taking a tour with him!

5.00We had a tour with Nicky — and absolutely loved it! Nicky is incredibly positive, kind, and attentive. The whole trip felt very comfortable and easy-going. During the bus rides she shared interesting stories and fun facts, which made the journey between locations enjoyable. At every stop we had plenty of time to explore without any rush. I genuinely recommend taking this tour — it was a wonderful experience!

5.00Nicky was our tour guide for the day and we couldn’t have asked for a better person. She’s such a nice lady, very knowledgeable and with such a positive energy. We got to visit different castles and small towns, along the way we listened to different facts and stories about Scottish history. It was such a nice experience!!!
