Titicaca is the highest navigable lake in the world, located at 3856 meters above sea level. Its shores and small islands are home to the Aymara and Quechua who come from ancient cultures that lived in this area long before the Incas dominate. Here visitors can explore traditional villages where Spanish is the second language and where ancient myths and beliefs persist even today. One of the peculiarities of Lake Titicaca are the small floating islands inhabited by a tribe called the Uros. In these small islands visitors are welcomed and can even ride in one of the famous reed boats.

I usually dont write reviews, but felt necessary in this situation. Too expensive for what was offered. We took local buses to go to Copacabana (what ok, i kind of expected that when i booked it), but then every little thing (small taxes, tickets for the boat, even the drink - a coke zero - for lunch) was not included (the amount was not expensive, but considering the price of the tour it’s absurd). The guide was nice but seemed not prepared. I had an issue because in the return we were stopped by the border police (we didnt leave bolivia) and they asked for the passport with the stamp of the immigration. I was not told i needed to carry my passport around (specially in a bus tour) and was almost detained by the police. The guide offered little help and didn’t know how to handle the situation (i as able to get a copy of my documents from the hotel via WhatsApp). Actually the “tour” was having a guy with us via public transportation. Even for the drop off we took a taxi (that we walked to get it as the guide didnt want to take it right in front of the bis station). Really not worth it.
