Enjoy this 2-hour guided adventure on a double-deck power catamaran to watch the whales in their natural habitat. Depending on the whales’ behavior during your whale watching trip, you may see the whales slapping the surface with pectoral fins (their very long side fins), flukes (the tail), the peduncle (the strong muscles attaching the tail to the rest of the body) and the breach, this is when the whale rises completely out of the water and crashes down again.

This double-deck power catamaran leaves from Ma'alaea Harbor and can bring you to the whales quickly. Juices and sodas are included, all kinds of drinks are available for purchase, and there are restrooms on board. The humpback whales return to Hawaii for a few months each year to mate and give birth. 3.00This is a good whale watch for a large boat and definitely for the price point! They book a lot of people so moving around the boat to see the whales is not really possible. For those with mobility issues, the walk to the boat is about 0.4 mile so I recommend you drive the person to the boat dock (you may even be able to park there if you can find a space) if you don't have a walker/wheelchair. Our family sat in two different areas. Upstairs, we had drinks delivered and a staff member checking on us. Downstairs in the front of the boat, our family members did not see any staff and got a bit wet from the waves. Just good information to know. Overall, we did see whales and the ride was smooth.
If you want to see whales take this tour!

5.00Great experience! We have been on whale watching excursions in Alaska, Mexico and Iceland. This was by far the best as far as the number and closeness of whales. One whale kept going back and forth under the Quicksilver! We booked this event through Viator one day ahead of time when we learned the cruise ship excursion was cancelled. It was an easy Uber ride from and back to the ship for less than $25 each way. Highly recommend!

3.00Redline rafting whale watching tour was SO MUCH BETTER! This boat was too big to get anywhere quickly so while we saw whale activity we were never able to really see them. Flamingo Joe took great pics and we did buy them because ours were so bad.

4.00boat was not too crowded but definitely fuller - get there early if you want your choice of seats. we didn't end up doing the hydrophone whale song thing at all, not really sure why. we got to see a few whales on the trip but because of regulations you can't get too close to them. POG and water on board for free. we had done a snorkel tour the previous day and saw a fair number of whales on that trip, so I'm not sure that this tour necessarily added more, but I guess that's a gamble.

4.00This was a pleasant outing for our family. We got to see several whales including bulls (adult males), cows (adult females) and calfs (young). And an extremely rare whale placenta which was recovered for scientific research.

5.00Very attentive guys! We saw tons of whales. We also got wet, so dress accordingly. Sunglasses and sunscreen were a must. They also had a gentleman giving a narration lesson over the loud speaker. Job well done guys.

5.00Enjoyed whale watching. The captain made sure to turn the boat so everyone got to see the whales. Great whale facts. We were able to hear whale sounds under the water.
