Enjoy this 2-hour guided adventure on a double-deck power catamaran to watch the whales in their natural habitat. Depending on the whales’ behavior during your whale watching trip, you may see the whales slapping the surface with pectoral fins (their very long side fins), flukes (the tail), the peduncle (the strong muscles attaching the tail to the rest of the body) and the breach, this is when the whale rises completely out of the water and crashes down again.

Check in was quick and easy. The boat is fairly large with lots of seating. We chose to sit in the shade on the 2nd deck. There were whales everywhere. They turn the boat frequently so every seat gets good views. Lots of good info about whales. The staff were very friendly and the drinks were perfect...juice, soda and water included. Mai Tai's were only $5. Super fun cruise! Would 100% go again.

Lots of fun! We saw many whales, and the crew provided great information about whales. I learned quite a bit about whales in Hawaii

Saw some whales but only from a great distance. Nothing up that close. I could see whales from this distance on the shoreline.

Breathtaking!!!!!!!!!! Seen soooooooo many whales and got to see a baby jump out the water 3 times. The captain was awesome, very knowledgeable. Staff was awesome, the young man made us feel very safe with boarding and exiting with our large stroller! My husband and I travel with our 17 yr old, 9 year old, 6 year old and 1 yr old. Felt safe the entire time on the boat and they also had very affordable snacks for sale for the kids(or an adult) with free complementary drink. If I’m ever fortunate to come back, I will only book with this tour! Also their mai tai were awesome and only $5, can’t beat that!

You’re on a fairly large, stable boat. The commentary on the whales was good but we never got close to any. They always seemed to be closer to other boats. We’ve seen them almost at the same distance from the shore

Great tour great team on the trip. However they let themselves down by leaving us standing on the dock in the pouring rain, when they could have met us on the boat.

Excellent experience, reasonable admission fee, perfect length of time on the ocean (though as each whale appeared, we could have watched longer and loved being on the ocean). Thank you all captain, crew and photographer. Kudos to Jeff and Roscio (sorry if misspelled). Welcoming, kind, knowledgeable and they made the journey more enjoyable. Perfect balance in available beverages and snacks, too. Wonderful to have Danielle, photographer, on board, too. Her photos captured the whales and the whole experience far better than my iPhone. Thank you, Quicksilver all for a wonderful whale watching experience.

We were here first week in Feb. 2026. CELL PHONES are must to traverse all the bookings and reservations and waivers. I booked my trips 1 month in advance, not knowing what the weather would be like, but they do sell out. So when we got here and saw the true weather, we were able to cancel with NO PROBLEM 24 hrs in advance. (no questions asked, no hassle.) Because the weather was only descent for 3 days, we went multiple times on some days. Each time seeing different things. . Yes we saw whales, but different behaviors. I'd say we got the most activity from the whales on the sunniest days. The shops near the Aquarium are nice and worth viewing. There is a ice cream shop there. The Aquarium is there also, but you certainly can shop at the aquarium store even if you don't go in the Aquarium. The public restrooms are in the corner between all the Aquarium stores and parking. Getting a good whale picture is a lot of luck. But seeing them is not. Enjoy yourself. In 1 week we went 5 times on this tour, same boat, different crew and captain. The captain makes the trip. Steve was the BEST captain, understanding to take a picture you have to have the sun at your back. Crew was always polite, some passengers were too drunk/loud/and bad language for my liking. I wish a crew member would have talked to the women, there were children of all ages on the tour. Because of the build of the boat I choose this tour because I tend to get sea sick. Other ships had different seating, and of course being one of the bigger ships mean you move differently in the water. The lower/smaller ships you receive all the ocean it will give, but you are closer to the whale, possibly. All ships are suppose to stay the same distance away from a whale. I felt safe on the boat, there were two bathrooms, there was complimentary drinks and bar drinks for sale. The captain gave his safety speech and off we went whale watching. Down on the marina at the end; is a people Ferry. There is a check in area; which also has restrooms, but this building closes around 5:00 PM so may not be open when you return from a late cruise, but the restrooms up by the Aquarium appear to be open all night or at least very late. PS - don't forget to take cash to tip the crew, they work hard. PROS: Some outside seating. Ample paid parking. Parking on the boat marina area was only $1.00 an Hr, VS $3.00 an hr at the Aquarium area. There was handicap parking near the boat for people with walking issues, but get there early and only a few. The outside seating upper allowed good views of the water around you. Check in at Boss Frogs was easy, just wait for the directions on where the ship is and then walk to it. Check in actually occurs at the boat slip; via crew and a notepad, making sure you are on the list and that you have signed your waiver. If you haven't you must have a phone, they can send the waiver to, sign before you get on board. CONS: Outside seating with stationary tables, that didn't allow for large body types to use. So few outside seating, we had to get there 1 1/2 hours before departure to be first in line. Parking was $3.00 an hour up at the Aquarium, where they asked you to park. Not necessary to check in at Boss Frogs, because then you are fighting the walking crowd to get there first. They took a picture of you entering the ship, the on board photographer taking images the entire time you are on board, and taking whale images. These photos are for sale, but only that day, that time, on board. There was only a short period of time you had to go look at the images and decide. (not sure how to improve on this).

Arrive early. Just head to the Quicksilver slip. Don't meet at Boss Frog. That way you will get best seating. Grab a spot outside on the bow for the best view
