  This tour from Sarajevo to Srebrenica was exceptionally well organized from start to finish. Everything was included in the price, including transportation, museum admission, water, and a sandwich, making the experience completely hassle-free. What truly made the tour outstanding, however, was our guide, Ago. Throughout the journey, he shared a wealth of knowledge about the history of Sarajevo, the Bosnian War, and the Srebrenica genocide. His historical expertise was remarkable, and he presented complex events with clarity, nuance, and sensitivity. What made his storytelling especially powerful was his willingness to share firsthand accounts and personal experiences from his own family history. These testimonies added a deeply human dimension to the historical narrative and made the experience even more meaningful and memorable. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina who wishes to gain a deeper understanding of its recent history. An educational, moving, and unforgettable experience.   The tour was very impressive. On the 2-hour ride to Srebrenica the guide told and explained a lot of things about the history of the conflict through the centuries. And at the Remembrance Center we saw a film of what happened under the genocide. After that a specialized guide of the Center told sometimes more private stories about what happened to her family. Finally we walked to the cemetary where we saw the 8000 graves and names inscripted on a tableau. It is unbelievable what people can do to each other once the circumstances are to it.

  50 minutes into our drive the van was having mechanical issues with the driver/tour guide quickly identified. We immediately pulled to the side and the driver/guide reported the matter and replacement vehicle arrived in 40 minutes. We set off and our driver/guide shared his personal experience and tkmeline of the genocide. Once we arrived at the Museum we watched a 30 minute video that recapped similar information. We then walked through the Museum which recounted in great detail testimony from all those involved. You spend several hours here going at your own pace. We ate lunch (provided by the tour) and then went to the memorial or Cemetery. If you want to learn about how a people can perpetuate a genocide this is the tour for you. You will be moved greatly by the survivors and their families who retell this story over and over again to educate anyone who wants to learn.

  I don't remember the name of my guide. It was just the two of us during the ride. He did give a sobering account of how events unfolded at Srebrenica and was very professional while driving. He did take a wrong turn but I had fun teasing him about it. 10/10.

  I went on a solo tour around the Balkans and I especially was looking forward to visiting Bosnia. Not only because its delicious food, beautiful landscapes but its history as well. To understand history, I find it eye-opening to visit the locations to grasp what has taken place. I booked the Srebrenica tour, and I was the only person partaking, but with excellent communication the tour operator was willing to accomodate me and I was able to get a private tour. My tour guide was Ago, and I feel indebted to him as he was so knowledgeable, intelligent, humane and on top of that an excellent driver. To visit Srebrenica was not easy. As the tour went on I learned so much new, was able to connect pieces together, I really think I understood something about the evil residing in human minds by learning about the events that took place. It was truly devastating, heartbreaking to see the locations, read the people’s stories at the museum, watch videos that were recorded… It makes me sad, angry and wondering how it all was possible. I must say, without Ago I could not have been able to learn some things that still, to this date are happening, so I am so very grateful to him for sharing with me about what he knows. This tour, as difficult as it was, was the highlight of my 2-week tour around 9 different countries around the Balkans. I cannot recommend it enough to visit with Ago, if possible. I will forever remember what I learned, and try to find answers whether justice exists or not. Even if it doesn’t, the Bosnian people truly impressed me by how resilient, strong and even after all what the people have gone through, kind they are.

  The tour from Sarajevo to Srebrenica was one of the most powerful and emotional experiences I’ve ever had. What made it truly unforgettable was our guide, Almir. As a war veteran himself, he shared the history not just as facts from a book, but as something deeply human and personal. Throughout the tour, he spoke with honesty, dignity, and so much compassion for the victims and survivors. You could feel the weight of the history in every story he told, but also the strength and resilience of the people who lived through it. He answered every question openly and created an atmosphere where everyone felt connected and respectful. This was far more than just a tour — it was an experience that stays with you long after it ends. I left with a much deeper understanding of Bosnia’s history and immense respect for the people who continue to keep these memories alive. Thank you, Almir, for sharing something so personal and important with us.

  The Tour " Srebrenica Genocide Memorial" was a very impressive experience that we had in Bosnia. We were only two persons on this tour. The guide was very good and very knowlegdeable , the explanations he gave to us were very interesting .Visiting the mémorial was a very emotional experience. We learned a lot during this tour about what happened in Srebrenica. We were however surprised that we were only 2 of us on this tour because it is a very important place that people should know about and not forget what happened there , everyone should learn and never forget what happened in Srebrenica, thats why we highly recommend this tour to everyone visiting Bosnia.

  Our day trip to Screbrenica with Almir(war veteran, proud and passionate Bosnian) was very very emotional and unforgettable. Almir’s talked us through what happened at Screbrenica in detail throughout the 2.5 hour journey from Sarajevo to Screbrenica stopping to show us where atrocities took place on route. The exhibition at the Memorial centre Srebrenica Potocari is very interesting,emotional and heartbreaking. The visit to the martyrs cemetery opposite the memorial centre was emotional and heartbreaking.

  I recommend doing this small group tour if you have the time. It is very important that people understand, and never forget what happened, at Srebenica. Almar is a very informative and passionate guide. It was a confronting and sobering day, and a long trip, but definitely worth it.

  Last week I joined a small group tour to Srebrenica through the agency Meet Bosnia. I was picked up at my hotel by the tour guide, Alem [sp?], who after picking up three other guests, set off for the 2.5 hour drive to Srebrenica. Along the way, Alem provided us with background information about the history of the war in Bosnia, so that when we arrived in the area, we were well prepared for what we would see. The bulk of the visit was spent at the memorial site and museum in neighboring Potocari, which was formerly a factory and served as the base for the Dutch U.N. peacekeeping troops in the summer of 1995. At this site, we were given a deeply insightful and informative tour of the museum by Jasmin, who was an eyewitness to and survivor of the events in Srebrenica in July 1995. The museum itself is well structured to unpack the multiple layers of the story: from the experiences of the victims, the way that the events unfolded, and the role of the Dutch troops who were based there. The remainder of the tour included a visit to the cemetery across the road, where most of the 8,000-plus victims are buried, as well as a brief tour of Srebrenica itself, which pretty much resembles a ghost town these days. Our guide Alem did an excellent job on all counts, striking the right balance in guiding us through this difficult history.
