Fortress of Jajce
Your tour begins in the medieval city of Jajce, often celebrated as the "King's City." This historic site is one of the best-preserved fortified capitals of the Bosnian Kingdom, marking the last stronghold before the kingdom fell to the advancing Ottoman Empire. Jajce's rich history is encapsulated in its impressive fortifications and enduring cultural landmarks, making it a captivating first stop on your journey.
Catacomb of Jajce
The second stop on your tour is the so-called Catacombs of Jajce, though locals know it better as an underground Christian church rather than a true catacomb. This unique site, carved into a single rock or cave, showcases the late Romanesque style. It stands as a testament to the region's rich religious and architectural heritage. This stop is optional due to its relatively small size. Visitors should be mindful of this when deciding whether to pay the entrance fee.

This tour from Sarajevo was absolutely incredible! It offered a perfect mix of history, culture, and natural beauty. The first stop in Travnik was fascinating—the Ottoman-era architecture, colorful mosque, and the stunning views from the fortress gave us a real sense of Bosnia’s history. Our guide was knowledgeable and shared amazing stories about the town's rich heritage. Next, we visited Jajce, a charming and historic town famous for its breathtaking waterfall right in the heart of the city. Walking through the Old Town and learning about its medieval and royal history was such a unique experience. The highlight for me was the serene Pliva Lakes and the picturesque Watermills. The natural beauty of the area is absolutely stunning, and the peaceful setting was a perfect way to unwind after exploring the towns. The watermills were like something out of a fairy tale! The tour was very well-organized, and our guide made sure we had enough time to explore and enjoy each location. This trip is a must for anyone wanting to experience the beauty and history of Bosnia beyond Sarajevo. Highly recommended!
