3.00Let me start with the positives. This is an amazing tour that allows you to get a tiny taste of Malaysia and it's beautiful people, culture and overall scenery including city life and small town life. Our tour guide Vikram was very knowledgeable and truly made sure we were happy the entire trip. He knew exactly the right places to take iconic photos. Overall we had an amazing time and learned a lot and came back to Singapore exhausted but very happy. Let's now talk about the challenges. This tour is not for faint hearted. It's a 18 to 24 hour tour from the time you wake up to the time you get back to your room. We clocked in at exactly 23 hours. The trip didn't start out well. The person who picked us up was clueless and didn't speak any English even though our tour was an English speaking tour. He was also lost and didn't tell us we had to fill out a Malaysia entry card online. In fact he was supposed to send us the link beforehand and never did. We had a lot of complications at the border but made it through. Then the driver had no clue where to drop us off to meet the car with Vikram who would take over. I had to call Vikram myself to get a pin to his location and then guide the other driver to him Imagine if someone didn't have a data plan or hotspot to provide directions or fill out the entry card. Once we got to Vikram the other driver asked me for cash and Vikram had to explain to him that the office would reimburse him. Once Vikram took over the the day become great and we had a very good time. The breakfast as Batu Caves was great and the lunch was good. The dinner was very bad for a few reasons. The restaurant frankly was not the cleanest with hair on the table and the way they cleaned the plates and utensils after being used would have made anyone run away. Unfortunately we witness this after eating a little bit then just giving up due to the restaurant atmosphere. The bathrooms were also not clean. I would definitely not recommend that restaurant. But in the end, the overall experience we wanted, we got and now know what we need to do when visiting Malaysia the next time. If it was not for the issues at the start and the food challenge, the 23 hours were perfect and highly recommended. And don't forget you need to fill out the Malaysia entry information online beforehand and a Singapore health card on the way back. The tour details need to be clearly updated so it stands out better.

3.00Overall a good experience. Our trip turned out to be a very long day (24 hours from start to finish) due to unforeseen traffic issues and some mixup with drivers. Be prepared for periods of long driving. Saw all of the major sites and ate local food which was nice. Make sure you take local currency as there are no card facilities and make sure all of your immigration checks both ways are sorted (need to submit arrival into Malaysia and then back into Singapore) as this is not explained to you.
