This journey will start when one of our guides and a driver pick you up in your hotel. You will have a short ride to the entrance of the park.

Parque Ecologico La Periquera

Upon arrival, you will enter a trail full of curious endemic plants. After some time, you will arrive to the Cebada riverbed, which crosses the park forming different waterfalls. You will have the opportunity to see three of these waterfalls, one of them 15 meters high called La Periquera. And you will be able to take a refreshing bath and enjoy the clear water of the river.

We did a very nice hike in the protected rainforest of Villa de Leyva instead of Perequeria. Three beautiful waterfalls punctuate the hike. Our guide Miguel shared with us his passion for the forest: plants, hummingbirds, butterflies. The tour lasts a total of 3/4 hours with transport (from the hotel). A few passages can be slippery (but not difficult) so favor a day without rain. Recommended hiking shoes and swimsuit if the weather is nice and for the brave! The tour can be done in Spanish, French, English, German. Miguel is particularly attentive. Beyond the hike, we also had a nice meeting:-). We recommend 100% this excursion!
