  This is a must for those with an adventurous bent. Our guide Vida was simply amazing with his knowledge of the caves, terrain, history, and seasonal conditions. I consider myself maybe not a beginner, but a novice kayaker, and Vida clearly explains what not to do and proper techniques for traversing the caves. This is a unique adventure that can be physically demanding but the payoff is an unforgettable memory I highly recommend this tour.

• Cave kayaking was much a unique experience and Veda went over and above to make sure we had a great time!

  We had a super fun day, exceeded our expectations! Niko and crew were fabulous - besides a beautiful, peaceful kayak thru 5 caves, Niko shared great information about the environment and his own survival expertise. We are a very active couple in our late 60’s and were completely comfortable with the physical requirements and enjoyed the variety including kayaking, quick dip in the river and a brief hike through the jungle. Omar was fabulous as well, cheerful, enthusiastic and a great communicator.

  Great guide (Vida loca!) and amazing way to explore 5 caves and small cenotes in the jungle! The current makes the paddling easy and 7 miles is easily doable. We were a group of 6, and had a very private-feeling experience exploring the first several caves before being joined by a few small groups of folks in tubes (from cruise ships in port). Beautiful views and very peaceful. Highly recommend!

  This was the BEST activity! (Better than the tour of Tikal or even ATM Cave). This was a last minute idea. I called Omar at 8 and we met up at 9:30, so don’t hesitate to call instead of trying to book online. The company does a lot of tours with cruise ships, so we got lucky it was not a cruise ship day. It was just the guide and us. We only saw one other group of kayakers. The caves are amazing and include a natural waterfall along with all the other formations you would expect to see. This tour meets at St Herman’s Cave where you take a truck ride through a citrus orchard for about 25 minutes. You then put into the water at the first cave. Initially, the ceiling is quite low, which was disconcerting, but it quickly opened up into larger caverns. There was a small portage between caves 2 and 3. It’s a muddy, slippery walk - not a good idea for mobility impaired. The guides can carry kayaks (and they were twice as far as us) but we helped carry one with all the paddles and seats. There are several sets of very small rapids that you go through both in and out of the caves. I managed to fall out in the first one but it was easy to get out and get back in the boat. All the same, I was glad for the life jacket and helmet. If you listen to the guide and follow them, you won’t have any problems. We ended up at Nohoc Chen Park where we had a traditional Belizean lunch (although I saw pasta and Mac n Cheeze for the kids). The ride back to our car was about an hour. 90% of this tour is a very slow, relaxing paddle/float. In the rapids, you do need some upper body strength to paddle away from the eddies and shallows, but the water is super shallow so you can almost always get out and walk if you get stuck. The kayak tour was waaay better than tubing. We got to go through 5 caves. Tubers hike about an hour or 80 minutes to do one or two caves. It looked like the tubes were all lashed together to make a big flotilla.

  Incredible experience! We did the 7 mile cave kayaking with Vida. Vida has been in the industry for over 25 years, is safe and knowledgeable about the area and created a very enjoyable experience. Neko the owner helped us with our kayaks, drove to the launch and pick up sites, and had lunch arranged. He has also spent many years in the cave tubing and kayaking business. The first half of the tour we saw only one other small group, making a really private tour. The second half there are more tubers and kayakers as this is along the more main route. Would highly recommend this company and experience!

  The highlight of our trip to Belize! It's truly a beautiful country, with beautiful people. From the moment we first contacted Belize Inland Tours, we were treated with respect and courtesy. Omar was very professional.....attentive to details and quick to respond to all queries. Our day started with Rose and Pedro picking us up and engaging us in a lively discussion. Their passion and desire to showcase their country was evident from the start. We were headed to the ATM cave on a gravel road through the countryside. Once there, Pedro was our guide through the jungle, through river crossings, and eventually through the cave. He was very informative, passionate, entertaining, and continually had our safety and comfort in mind. The trek through the cave was mind boggling.......where else in the world can you enjoy the inner beauty and secrets of nature's great work and immerse yourself in ancient Mayan culture and beliefs? Pedro brought the cave and its mysteries to life, and we thoroughly enjoyed our trek through it. A must do!! After a satisfying lunch and a drive through the back country, we met up with Neko and Vida for the next part of our day, the 7 mile kayaking though caves. The drive through the back country to our put-in was an adventure in itself, with three river crossings. From there Vida was our guide through the caves. We can't praise and appreciate him enough for the experience he gave us. He was very passionate about the caves, their beauty, and the ecosystem he was taking us though. Besides being very entertaining, Vida was also very attentive and mindful of safety. He took every precaution to ensure we were safe and comfortable and confident as we navigated through the caves. At one point as we were about to encounter some rapids, he tethered Amanda's kayak to his own to ease her worries.... which relaxed her completely and allowed her to fully enjoy the experience. The caves, the river, and surrounding area were stunning, and a must do! We highly recommend using this company for any tours in Belize. They are very professional, with attention to detail and safety, and ensure you have an amazing experience. Big shout out to Omar, Rose, Pedro, Neko, and Vida for a very memorable day. You won't be disappointed!

  Had a great time! Omar was brilliant communicating beforehand and the whole team of guys who drive you (sitting on the back of a pick-up! Fun!) and guide the kayak tour itself were great - really friendly and made us feel welcome. They worked really hard, helping in the water and lugging the kayaks through the jungle while we ate lunch! Didn’t expect that! We had 2 guides (I think one was training?) for our family of four and another couple. The caves were amazing - what an experience! - and varied in their “scenery” and the lunch/swim stop was (open air and) picturesque. There were small rapids… felt like rapids just because of the water speed but no white water and super shallow (April anyway) so no danger, could have just stood up at any time if in difficulty… so moments of excitement too. Kayaking was not at all hard work as all with the current so don’t worry about that! Two 11 year old kids were fine and any time they went a bit off course (too near the wall etc) due to not following instructions (it was quite hard for them to understand what to do as the kayaks necessarily stay away from each other during each chat and there was water noise and unfamiliar accents to understand ) there was help on hand and you basically couldn’t go wrong as you just sit in a kayak and go with the current. It wasn’t cold at all (again, in April)… whereas I remember being a bit cold cave-tubing in April years ago and looking forward to being back out in the sun!… I suppose because then you are half in the water. Only one cave we saw anyone else (so a very small proportion of the trip) - many tubers - and one difference was they were beaching in the cave and walking around a bit looking at the formations and things. Might be worth bearing in mind if you like to have a good look around inside caves. This is not that. I think I was happy just to keep going - it felt adventurous and we covered so much ground we saw plenty of cave “on the fly”! I could do without “and this stalactite looks like the Virgin Mary” etc tbh… more fun to be whizzing past on an adventure! Way more fun than tubing and we would definitely repeat the awesome experience! Thank you Belize Inland Tours!
