  We spent the day with Nate and Becky on the 50’ Sea Ray and had the best day of our trip. Great service, great snorkeling, great music, great drinks. Would recommend to anyone. Thanks, Sonic team!

• Worst customer service

  I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience because it was honestly one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I’ve ever had especially after spending thousands of dollars to celebrate my birthday with 12 girls on what was supposed to be a special day. From the moment we stepped onto the boat, the atmosphere felt cold and unwelcoming. The staff gave the impression that they did not want to be there or even wanted us there. There was no excitement, hospitality, or effort to make the experience enjoyable. We constantly had to ask for simple things, such as raising the music volume because we could barely hear anything. Every request felt like an inconvenience to them, and the overall energy on the boat made everyone uncomfortable. The experience became so frustrating that we ended up docking at the island and spending almost the entire day there instead of enjoying the boat we paid so much money for. That alone says a lot. What shocked me the most, however, was the way the situation was handled afterward. When we spoke to the manager to express our disappointment, instead of listening with professionalism or empathy, she became defensive and accused us of being “the worst group they’ve ever had.” I was honestly in disbelief by the disrespect, accusations, and gaslighting we received simply for voicing concerns about the poor service. As a business owner myself, I understand that not every day or every client interaction will be perfect. However, professionalism, accountability, and customer service should always come first. There is a major difference between handling feedback with grace and attacking paying customers who are simply disappointed in the service they received. Sadly, what was supposed to be a memorable birthday experience turned into a huge disappointment. What makes this even more disappointing is that this was not just one person’s opinion or misunderstanding. There is simply no way that all 12 girls in our group walked away feeling the exact same way if the experience had truly been good. Not a single person in our party felt welcomed or enjoyed the service provided on the boat, which says a lot about the overall experience and atmosphere created by the staff.

  We booked this company for two separate charter days in St. Thomas, and the contrast between our experiences was honestly shocking. Day 1 (Catamaran – Chris & Lauren): Outstanding. Chris and Lauren gave us one of the best charter experiences we’ve ever had. They were attentive, kind, proactive, and genuinely seemed invested in making sure everyone had a great time. Lauren made excellent drinks, constantly checked in to see if we needed anything, and was incredibly attentive while we were at the beach. Chris went above and beyond in ways that made the day memorable. He even took the dinghy out to refill our waters while we were relaxing on shore. At one point, he spotted turtles swimming nearby, stopped the boat, and let us jump in to snorkel with them. He also recommended an excellent restaurant, dropped us off, and came back to pick us up. It was the kind of experience that makes you excited to book again. We happily tipped them very well because they absolutely earned it. Unfortunately, Day 2 could not have been more different. Day 2 (Sea Ray – Kenny & Becky): Extremely disappointing and uncomfortable. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt tense and unwelcoming. When Kenny and Becky arrived, there appeared to be tension between them, and unfortunately that energy seemed to carry throughout the day and into interactions with our group. It took a long time to leave the dock, and once underway in rough water, we were asked to remain seated in a very small section of the boat for most of the ride. Instead of feeling welcomed onto a private charter, the experience quickly became uncomfortable. When we asked for music, we were initially told it could not be played because Kenny and Becky needed to communicate with one another. After we questioned this, music was eventually turned on, but so low it was barely noticeable. Small detail perhaps, but it reflected the tone of the day, requests felt inconvenient rather than welcomed. The overall hospitality was noticeably different from our first charter. Asking for drinks or refills felt uncomfortable, and interactions often came across as annoyed rather than accommodating. Our first stop was customs. We were hoping to simply wait for our documents and continue on to the beach, but comments were made that made our group feel unwelcome for remaining onboard. Kenny recommended several places to visit while we waited, so we left the boat, only to find that every place we were directed to was closed, resulting in wasted time wandering around instead of enjoying the island. Afterward, we went to our first and only beach stop, where we swam to shore and ultimately spent all of our time off the vessel because the atmosphere onboard simply did not feel enjoyable. The boat itself also had a damp, moldy smell inside the cabin, making it unpleasant to spend time below deck. Even the outdoor seating felt worn, with ripped edges on portions of the seating. What makes this especially disappointing is that our first experience proved this company is capable of delivering exceptional service. Chris and Lauren were phenomenal and represented exactly what you hope for in a luxury charter. Unfortunately, our experience with Kenny and Becky was the complete opposite and left us uncomfortable enough that we would not book through this company again. If you choose to book, I would strongly recommend requesting Chris and Lauren specifically.

  Very disappointing experience overall. From the beginning, the atmosphere felt awkward and unwelcoming. When Kenny and Becky arrived, there seemed to already be tension between them, and unfortunately that energy carried throughout the entire charter and affected the interaction with our group as well. Instead of feeling relaxed and excited for the day, we immediately felt uncomfortable onboard. Departure from the dock took much longer than expected, and once we finally left, the water was rough and we were asked to remain seated in a very small area of the boat for most of the ride. Rather than feeling like a fun private charter experience, it felt restrictive and uncomfortable. We also asked several times for music, and initially we were told it could not be played because Kenny and Becky needed to communicate. Eventually music was turned on after we questioned it, but it was kept so low you could barely hear it. It may sound like a small issue, but it reflected the overall tone of the day where every request seemed to feel like an inconvenience instead of part of the experience we paid for. Kenny suggested several places nearby for us to visit while waiting, so we left the boat only to discover that every single place he recommended was closed. It ended up wasting a significant amount of time wandering around instead of enjoying our day. After customs, we only made one beach stop. We swam to shore and ended up spending all our time there because honestly the atmosphere onboard was so uncomfortable that we did not even want to return to the boat. The condition of the boat itself was also disappointing. Inside the cabin there was a damp, moldy smell that made it unpleasant to spend time below deck, and some of the outdoor seating had ripped and worn edges that made the boat feel poorly maintained overall.

  Our experience with Sonic Charter was extremely mixed. On the first day, we went out on the catamaran with Captain Chris and Lauren, and they were absolutely wonderful. From the moment we stepped on board, they made us feel welcomed, comfortable, and excited for the day ahead. Their service was excellent, they were incredibly sweet and attentive, and they gave us amazing suggestions for places to see and explore. The entire experience felt relaxing, fun, and memorable, and it truly set a very high expectation for the company. Unfortunately, our second day experience was the complete opposite. We rented a Sea Ray with the same company expecting the same level of hospitality and professionalism, but we were deeply disappointed. It was a different captain, and the first mate was Becky. From the beginning, they made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed on the boat. The atmosphere was tense and unpleasant, completely unlike the warm experience we had the day before. We were so uncomfortable that we ultimately decided not to stay on the boat at all. It was disappointing because our first experience showed how amazing a charter day can be when you have a crew that genuinely cares about the guests. Chris and Lauren were exceptional, but the second experience unfortunately left us with a very negative impression overall

  This was an amazing experience. Nate and Becky worked the boat for us and were incredibly knowledgeable about the islands. They knew just where to take us so that our adult group of 10 would have e a great experience. Cocktails were part of the package as well as all the snorkle gear we needed. I highlybrecommend this group!

  We had a fantastic day exploring the islands on the 50 Sea ray. The crew was very experienced and friendly. They recommended a few beautiful spots on St John and BVI, we loved all of it. Ty Tc

  Eric and Lauren were awesome hosts they took us to some great snorkeling spots as well as just stopping to dive in and swim. We parked at lime out for lunch and absolutely loved our whole day on the boat. Can't wait to come back again! I rented a few years ago and I do think the boat has a bit of wear and tear since my last visit but it was still a great time.
