10/10 recommended. You can book with confidence. We took this tour with Christina as our guide from Vigo cruise port to Santiago de Compostela. Everything was well organized. Quick, easy pick up from just off the ship at 10am local, then onto an air conditioned coach bus for the 1.5 hrs to Santiaga de Compostela. Bathroom break after arrival and then an easy walk to the town and Cathedral. We had about 1.5 hours of free time first before meeting at 1:15pm for a tour of the inside of the Cathedral. So we immediately went in search of the cloistered nun's Tarta de Santiago (Cake of St. James) at the Royal Monastery of San Pelayo de Antealtares. Then followed by a cafe for some churros and chocolates. Took too long as we ran out of time for souvenir shopping haha. Then it was a very nice tour of the Cathedral we were able to take a side entrance through the Museum. We headed back to the bus at 2:30pm for the 1.5 hour journey back to cruise port, made it in good time for the 4:30pm all aboard. Everything went so smoothly. We had considered taking the local Renfe train for less money but with such a short port stop, this excursion with Optimus Tours was a more reliable way to travel.

Loved Javier! He was very informative and knowledgeable about Santiago. He came to pick us up right next to the ship, which was so convenient. The time allotted was perfect. He gave us a tour of the city and then gave us enough time to explore and have lunch. We started out earlier than expected, but then I can see why. We arrived early and was able to go into the cathedral with less crowd. We did receive a message about the updated meeting time a day or two earlier. I also liked that we had a smaller group about 25-30 and was transported in a small bus, not like the big bus that the cruise passengers were going on. We will definitely use Viator tour again rather than the cruise shore excursion, which is usually crowded with many people. Thank you, Javier.
