The Franschhoek Wine Tram hop-on hop-off tour is one of the best ways to discover the true essence of this picturesque valley, its rolling vineyards, breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality, world-class cuisine, fine wines and a 300-year history. This tour includes a return transfer from Cape Town in a luxury air-conditioned motor coach and a full day riding the tram and tram buses around the wine estates.

Franschhoek
Upon arriving in the Franschhoek Valley, you'll receive your tram ticket and can explore the wine estates at your own pace using the Hop-On Hop-Off tram & buses. The Navy line starts at Groot Drakenstein terminal. The NAVY line includes Vrede en Lust, Plaisir de Merle, Boschendal, Allée Bleue, Camberley, Bartinney, Le Pommier, & Zorgvliet. Circular routes stop at 8 estates, with trams & buses every hour. Expect to visit 4-5 estates. Wine tasting fees are extra and payable on the day. Hop on & off as you like. Schedules may change.

Great fun way to taste fabulous wines

5.00This trip is such good fun. The tram or bus (it depends which vineyards you wish to visit ) drops you off and comes back precisely one hour later to pick you up. The buses are super punctual so it works like clockwork. Each vineyard gives you a choice of wines and tasty snacks to accompany the wines. All for a bargain price of less than £10 per head per vineyard. Many of the vineyards are in really beautiful locations - so even if you’re not drinking it’s a really nice way to see outside the city if you’re visiting Cape Town.

5.00This was a great experience. Do take your own money along, as you pay for your tastings at the different estates. The time in-between the pick up is rushed though, it's impossible to finish all the 6 or 7 assigned estates in 1 day. A wholesome and lovely experience.

4.00The day was fantastic the wine tour itself was great but had issues with pick up at the pick up point the driver never turned up so had to get a uber to the terminal and they were supposed to to explain how the day proceed but nobody did and had to work it out by ourselves and help from others on our tour so they could improve on those things but otherwise a fantastic day

4.00I really enjoyed this your and the concept of exploring the wineries via a hop on hop off tram and bus is fantastic! It was well organised on the day and worked seamlessly. There was a good range of wineries to visit and the wineries were well prepared for the tram. I would have liked more details in advance, as it is even hard to follow in the actual website. Each stop is for one hour. The maximum wineries (for our line and timetable) was four, though three was more like the reality. Knowing this in advance, and which wineries are tram vs bus, you could do a bit more research and plan your day.
