Enjoy a stunning guided walk along the Godley Head Loop Track, one of the most breathtaking hikes in Christchurch. Your guide picks you up from your accommodation and transports you to Taylors Mistake Beach, where the adventure begins.

Take in world-class views as you traverse the ancient crater of an extinct volcano and enjoy one of New Zealand's most beautiful coastlines with an experienced local guide.

This well-maintained loop track spans 8-10 km (5-6 miles) and takes approximately 3 hours to complete, allowing plenty of time to soak in the scenery. Hot drinks at a local café, morning snacks, and a gourmet picnic lunch are all included.

Along the way, you'll see recently restored historic WWII landmarks, an Antarctic cabin, a penguin colony, and charming little huts. Visit Boulder Bay, a secluded beach with views over Pegasus Bay and the majestic Southern Alps. Wildlife sightings may include seals, dolphins, and native birds.

Sumner Beach (Cave Rock)

After hotel pick up, your guide will entertain you with the history of Christchurch on the 20-minute drive to Sumner Beach in a 12-seater van. Here you will enjoy a hot drink on the deck of a seaside cafe overlooking the ocean and Cave Rock. This is a beautiful landmark and a great start to the day.

One of the most majestic hikes you will ever experience. The views were magical. The 7 km hike was challenging but our guides were very considerate and helpful for all levels of ability in our group. Really found having a guide at front and one at back made us feel safe and encouraging. Don't miss your chance to experience this excursion.

I had a glorious day doing the Crater Rim Walk out of Christchurch NZ. I was greeted on-time by the tour guides. The guides were very knowledgeable about the history, plants, and animals. They were able to answer all of my questions. The weather was great; there is some uphill and downhill portions of this walk. The guides adjusted their pace to accommodate their guests. It was a wonderful experience, with many beautiful views.

Nicole is amazing! She runs very well her business. My family and I had a great time on the trail! We were pleasantly surprised to see seals that day and we had lunch next to the seal. 🦭

This was an amazing guided walk! Every view was different and beautiful. Nicole was such a great guide - friendly and knowledgeable. Lunch was delicious. I’m so glad I did the hike and highly recommend it! It was nice to get out of town and see the natural beauty of this area.

This is one of the most beautiful hikes I've done throughout the world. The scenery is so beautiful and our guide, Heidi, was fantastic. She adapted parts of the hike based on our abilities and took us down some tracks we would not have ventured to on our own. The packed lunch was delicious and you could not have asked for a more scenic and calming location to enjoy it! I can't recommend this outing enough!

We were lucky to have an amazing weather during our walk and the scenery was second to none! On top of that our guide made the experience more memorable! She was very knowledgeable about the area and we leaned a lot from her about Christchurch, Godley Head area. She was warm and made us feel like walking with a friend.

In spite of some inclement weather near the end, we had a great time on this full day crater walk. It wasn't a hard hike, but I definitely felt like I got some good cardio! Our guide Dee was extremely knowledgeable about the area's history and wildlife and super friendly. Lunch was provided, which was excellent. Truly an enjoyable day. Highly recommend.
