Island Explorer Madeira 4x4 aims to make Madeira Island known by sharing cultural curiosities with fun. The objective is to offer a playful adventure, through tours through the most emblematic points of our island, also including off roading that only an all-terrain vehicle can provide.
The maximum capacity of the tour is 6 people. Travel time already included in the total duration.

The tour begins in Câmara de Lobos, a traditional fishing village that became known internationally through a painting by Sir Winston Churchill. The landscape of this city is marked by the presence of characteristic fishing boats, called “Xavelhas”.
Cabo Girao
We will go to the Cabo Girão viewpoint, with the famous glass suspended platform - “skywalk”, currently one of the most visited tourist attractions. Cabo Girão is the highest promontory in Europe at 580 meters high. The Cabo Girão viewpoint offers an unparalleled perspective over the cities of Câmara de Lobos and Funchal.

5.00Christophe was fantastic. So much knowledge. A guide, photographer and was great with my elderly in-laws. A great way to see some of the Island with amazing views. Would highly recommend.

5.00We had a really great 2 days with Christophe. We booked the full day Madeira tour then went on to do a tour of the East on another day. A really lovely likable guy, with a sense of fun and very knowledgeable about all aspects of the Island that he loves. Would recommend.

Christophe’s mix of deep knowledge and genuine enthusiasm turned every stop into a story. As we wound through the island, he shared history, ecology, and culture with such passion and humour that it felt like we were seeing Madeira through the eyes of someone who truly loves it. The off‑road sections were unforgettable. Bouncing through eucalyptus forests felt like nature’s own rollercoaster, thrilling and safe, with sweeping views and hidden spots we would never have found alone. What really sets the day apart is Christophe himself. Friendly, funny, and incredibly attentive; he tailors the experience beautifully and makes you feel like you are exploring with a friend who knows all the island’s secrets. By the end of the day, we had seen breathtaking landscapes, learned so much, and created memories that will stay with us for a long time. This was not just a tour. It was the experience of our trip. 5.00Experience of a lifetime, glad we booked it! The day was the perfect pace and filled with excitement, education, and enchantment. You MUST take this adventure if you are on Madeira, Small group allowed for personalized service. Christophe was knowledgeable on the history, geography, plants, flowers, EVERYTHING! 5.00This was a fabulous experience. We took the west side tour first and were so taken with the experience we went back and did the east side a couple of days later. Christophe was enthusiastic, entertaining, humorous, knowledgeable and really presented a lot of insights into the history and ecology of Madeira. The jeep was comfortable, and off road experience both fun and provided access to things one wouldn't otherwise see. Whole hearted recommendation to book with Christophe!

5.00This was an incredibly cool tour, with lots of info and great spots. Off-road through the eucalyptus forest standing in the back of the jeep is more fun than most roller coasters. The guide was super friendly, accommodating and told us a lot about the local botany and history. Treat yourself to a poncha, which makes the rest of the ride all the more fun:). I would do it again and again and recommend it to my best friend.
